Interesting to hear about the montly updates and A.I fixes. I hope Fabrice reads our bugthread (certain he has) so he know what to fix.
What about those people that already finished the campaigns and maps?

"we are already thinking about other races – the world map should give some hints on that :)"

Here's a link to the world map, for those with one of the "limited" editions.

Does anybody know what races this hints at?

"Whoa, the UBI guardian angel attacks." ;)

lol, heh, nice one jeff. I don't think my defending Ubi was doing anything other than denying reality, really, because alot of the stuff you guys are annoyed about I found I was too. I mean, come on, they had to use the patch to fix the credits. :)

But hey, I guess I have a cool title now.

Actually I think CloudRiderX is pretty cool sort of reminds of Racer X from the Speed Racer cartoons. Your defense of UBI provided a balance intentional or not. I was never as annoyed with them as I seemed, but very concerned, and like most of us on the forum I wanted UBI to provide the best possible product to us. Most of the disagreements here were fueled by a lack of reliable or contradictory information coming from UBI/Nival. Hopefully (not likely) this informationally challenged PR department :jester: will get their act together. ;|

Apparently not, but if the game had SHIPPED with a MAP EDITOR you would have a dozen quality single player maps in your hands by now.

A dozen? Yes. Quality? Probably not, at least by my standards. A quality single player map takes a long time to complete.

I don't wan't to be pesimistic, but I think that the editor will have many bugs which will need more and more patching :(

Do you also think, that everytime Fabrice talks (in interviews, in posts), what he says has this "everything will be allright" feeling in it?

We'll see, for now it's not...

We all know that Veldrynus would make at least three quality maps in these few weeks the game was out

I am disappointed Fabrice not mentioning single maps in the next patch.. Not all of us play MP... What about all those hidden disabled maps already on the game disk that haven't been implemented yet that was mentioned on the forum viewtopic.php?t=2277 ? Why can't they unlock them on the next patch? hmmmm

Didn't see anything about them unblocking the cheat codes.. I was hoping they would let us have them back on the next patch...

And I really am looking forward to the Editor myself.. I hope it is bug free..

@ addicted:
Remember that all MP maps can be played SP as well.

On the RMG:
An RMG is quite a bit more difficult to make than a map editor- at least if you want it to perform basic checks, such as all areas accessible to all players, reasonable resource levels, neutral creature strengths, and so on.

On user maps:
I don't think anyone can know enough about the game to make a reasonable map (other than a trivial one with no flavor) this soon. Even experienced map makers from previous games need to learn the nuances of this one. Then, a quality map normally takes a couple months to create. I figure that although late July may be a bit later than we would have liked, I think that map designers would not be ready to create anything until late June, maybe next week at the earliest if they were in the beta, or got an early release of the game. I suspect the first quality maps to come out in late August or early Septemer (Assuming a 3rd week in July release of the editor)

But MP is for online play isn't it? When I hit MP in my game, it takes me to a screen to choose between 3 different websites so I obviously can't get into the MP maps unless I log onto a website.. I don't want to play online, so that means I can't play MP maps as a SP, right? :)

Yes, but is the AI optimized so it can play a decent single player.

In my case I would need six months to feel comfortable to even start a map. So I'll probably go with Equilibris for the next one and then see about H-V or VI.

This Map Editor might be taking longer than usual because H5 is a completely 3D game. There is a whole third dimension now, with a rotating camera and cut-scenes. This map editor might even come with a custom cut-scene creator.(try saying that 5 times fast)

For one thing, I hope that this game has a great deal of terrain like H4 did, I really liked that.

Actually, there's a checkbox over the list when you choose SP scenarios that includes MP maps in the list as well.
