There is a large and growing discussion on this topic on the official Ubisoft form. You can find a lot of info there and even comment on the link below before they close it as well.

Your only paranoid if your wrong; the spyware is a fact; the encryption is a fact; your nievity if a fact.

If you want to shoot the messenger, go ahead :slap: . I'm an old guy, watching companies get more and more personal info on the younger generation every day. You guys are the first generation on earth that has to decide whether to fight for your right to privacy, or just shrug your shoulders and put on a drone hat. If, when you get to my age, you want every government agency and company knowing every detail of your life, then by all means, do nothing about this sort of thing. I won't care, I'll be most likely be dead by then

I spent most my adult life fighting to make sure the younger generation, you guys, had a world of "freedom". The enemies of our freedom were easy to see, they looked different than us, spoke a different launguage, and tried to shoot us. Your enimies of freedom will most likely be faceless and technological, and smile, and call you paranoid if you question their motives . . .

It's your world now kids; good luck; I'm off to enjoy my retirement :snore:

What about church and inquisition?I think that absolute freedom and privacy are pretty new concepts..

Faceless internal enemies were always present.Even the old generations had them. But they covered their tracks using communists and spies,or western usurpers and, again spies(depends on the country). There never was absolute freedom, now absolute privacy.Technology just provides a different rout to cover your tracks and spy on other people.

Its unacceptable, my copy is a store bought collectors edition (birthday present), I denied sendstats and allowed the Kerio firewall to block intrusion, The game then would not play at all so now I am using a cracked exe to prevent what I regard as an illegitimate hijacking of my laptop. Like others, if asked my computer details I might well give the information but I refuse to allow spyware.
