a great deal of strategy. even though units retaliate in turns.
it would make you think twice before going up against any stack.
does anyone beside me miss it?
I sincerely miss the first strike ability. it would add

I think even without simultaneous retaliation it would be possible to have units with first strike. They would simply hit first even if attacked by someone else.
I think it could be incorporated but would have to be offset by only giving it to weak units.
Having said that it might be quite nice if fast but weak units like hellhounds and blood furies had this ability so that they weren't taken out of battle effectiveness without getting off one attack, or none if they're unlucky.

Yes, I definitely do. It added a lot more strategy to the battle.Arzang wrote:a great deal of strategy. even though units retaliate in turns.

An idea just occured:If attack speed is used(each unit having an attack speed, and the one with higher rating attacks first,if they are same they strike at the same time),lucky strike could mean units attack speed doubling, and unlucky strike would mean it being halfed. This would weaken luck so that it isnt this ridiculously overpowered.
This also leads to interesting abilities like "decreasing opponents attack speed",both for a certain duration of time(some spells and poisons),or for the current attack. For example, vampires could have "decrease opponents attack speed by 10" instead of no retaliation. If the creature has an attack speed of 10 or less,it wouldnt retaliate at all.If it was higher,it would retaliate, but after the vapires strike.
This could also deal with retaliation stealers.Instead of stealing retaliation, each strike could decrease the attack speed bu lets say 10.So if a creature has attack speed of 31,it would retaliate 4 times, but each time would be slower then the pre

daemian; that won't be implemented. aren't the game mechanics more or less already set?
and I somehow think first strike would be even better with turnbased retaliation.
but if an eventual new town is the only one having the first strike ability; it would be a bit weird. maybe they'll add the ability to existing creatures?
but probably we'll never see this skill again.
