Heroes 4 download map help...

Unread postby Venom65437 » 31 May 2006, 04:39

First of all, this is my first post here, so HI EVERYONE! I've been playing this series since the original and I love it.

Anyway, I stumbled on this site by accident, but I decided to try some of the maps you can download for HOMM 4 and see what they're like.

I'm FAR from a computer expert, so I might be doing something stupid. Anywho, I downloaded them and put them in the maps folder, it made sense to me, and when I tried to start the game, it wouldn't start! I just got some weird error message after the loading screen appeared.

Any help would be great, I really wanna try some of these created maps, but I want to be able to play HOMM4 more!

Have you got the correct expansion pack installed?

Ah, this is a fairly new computer, so I haven't put the expansion packs back on yet. Could that really be the problem? I will put them back on and see if it works.

Well, I put both expansion packs on, and I'm still getting the same message.

It says "unable to open data/heroes4.h4r"

You seem to have one of your data files messed up. Try reinstalling ;|
