Heroes V Tops U.K. Charts

Unread postby Angelspit » 25 May 2006, 20:36

Here is the press release from the Nival Interactive site:

"Nival Interactive announces that Heroes of Might and Magic V made it to the top of British charts in the PC Full Price category in the first week of sales!

Released on May 19th, Heroes of Might and Magic V has already become a bestseller in Great Britain according to ChartTrack statistics. This achievement is especially overwhelming considering the fact that the results of week sales were summarized May 20th, the day after Heroes of Might and Magic V was released in Europe."

When consoles are taken into consideration, Heroes drops to the 33th position. But that's the state of the gaming industry today. Congratulations to Nival and Ubisoft, but also to all the fan sites who helped to generate some hype.

I hope this will stick up deep inside some hole of the Starforce crew.

Ah, the expansion would have come no matter what, if only to save a disastrous opening release.

I bought two copies on release day here in the UK, one was the Delux edition and the other was for a friend. Glad to see I wasn't the only one :P

Add to that a Swamp/Fortress town and with that, H5 would complete the journey of being an almost exact replica of H3. I at least don't want that to happen.

And we could have a second expansion witha Water/Lizard Town. Of course with Nagas and Medusas in there it could be a bit too Disciples.

Heroes V ranked 4th in the top selling Full-priced pc games in Australia this week. Not bad considering the series doesn't have much of a following here.
