Shipping Woes in America

Unread postby Angelspit » 24 May 2006, 16:02

While the European players have been playing their game for a week already, U.S. players are still waiting for their orders. At the Round Table, a couple of members are getting impatient. Both the CD-ROM and DVD Limited Editions of the game can be found at some Best Buy stores though. Sometimes it's better to deal with retail and online stores than with the publisher directly.

I couldn't find the game in Canadian stores yesterday. I'll visit a few stores again tonight and report on my findings. Fellow North Americans, please let us know if you see Heroes V in your hometown.

Our local GameStop has copies in, but for some ridiculous reason, the distributor is holding back the limited edition for "another day or two". Grrrrrrrrrr.....

I just called Ubi and now they are telling me they did in fact get the game in this morning and it has been shipped. We'll see on Friday if that's true or not.

Still, there is no reason or excuse for this. One of the main reasons people place pre-orders is because they expect to get the game earlier this way. So much for that logic as far as Ubi is concerned.

I'm in the same boat as the rest of you. I had it preordered at Gamestop, but I didn't have any faith in them actually getting the limited edition that I reserved, so I cancelled it.

It really isn't that surprising that it is taking so long to be shipped out. After years and years of this happening to a lot of videogames, you get used to it. However, I would be lying that if I said I wasn't irratated by the situation.

HodgePodge, did you get the regular edition or the Limited edition?

If it was the Limited, then how the hell did that happen? They didn't even get them in stock until today.

I think she mentioned changing her order to the Regular Edition.

Okay, that would explain it then. Apparently from what I'm hearing, the regular editions were all set to go, but all stores (even Ubi.com) delayed the Limited Editions 1-2 days.

Why, I have no idea.

I just called a local Gamestop/EB store and was told that the reason the US Heroes Limited Edition was delayed a day or so was due to a Design Flaw????.......that the stores should get them 5/25 and all those orders would start shipping tonight and start showing up tomorrow on doorsteps!!!!! YEAH!!!!!!!!!I'll be playing tomorrow night!!!!!!!!!!Cool!

Here's a good advice: never trust what a EB clerk will tell you...

Hey, my cousin works at EB games! As far as the game is concerned, I am still waiting for my limited edition in New Jersey. According to Ubi, it is coming. I will probably get it sometime this weekend.

I got an email that mine has shipped and a tracking number, but the tracking number doesn't show anything on FedEx.com, which is just awesome. So either mine has been shipped or they just sent me an email so I don't start asking what the hold up is.

No luck just yet ... the local Best Buy stores are saying they won't have it until Friday, but GameStop had the regular edition in (and sold out well before I could get there). They told me they'd have the limited edition in tomorrow, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
