StarForce: Over?

After I have installed and played the official Russian version of Heroes V (distributed by 1C, Nival's long-term partner in Russian distribution), it appears that it does not use StarForce, despite rumors. There are no StarForce drivers installed, and the StarForce removal tool finds nothing to remove.

Yes, from what I could gather, I think the Starforce-in-the-Russian-version rumor was just that, a rumor.

I thought those rumors were referring to some interviews with Nival

Not an interview but some comment dropped in a forum, if I remember correctly. One of those "err, did I really say that, it must have been taken out of context..." thing.

I salute Ubisoft, Nival and 1C! They made a very humane choice. I'm going to buy HOMMV just out of respect for the guys, even if it turns out to be disappointing...
