GameSpot.com already has one Angelspit. It's GameSpot themselves towards Alexander Mischulin. It is about the complete whole of this well awaited sequel-like game.

It's quite long and very informative. I already have a post discussing that in the Forums of the Heroes Round Table. Heroes V's thread.

The original Russian text says, "There will be difficulty levels, and possibly NOT five like before", from which I'm guessing that they meant LESS than five, not more.

Wow, this sounds intersting. Peasants to Knights, thats a nice feature. It will be great for aggressive players who have resources to kick around, and want to further their armies. I also like the Sylvan "prejudice bonus" kinda idea.

I hope Haven's skill to upgrade unit applicables only for human-type units. First because it will be weird to see a peasant or an archer upgraded to half-bird half-lion creature. Second because it will be some sort of Imbalance to be able to change all your Cavalier to angel even at high cost.

admira99: I think it will have that restriction. and I also think they use that specific example (peasant->knight) for a reason. maybe that will be the only upgrade they can do for creatures coming from Haven towns? meaning: the upgrade from peasant to knight is the only upgrade you can do with town-bought creatures. and you may or may not be able to upgrade neutral ones.

cloudriderx: the prejudice bonus is nice but I can't see what it has to do with sylvan. seeing Haven is a feudal empire and they aren't as good as they want to seem, I think it would be better there. Haven to me seems like the kind of town that would switch alliances and enemies swiftly. sylvan to me seems devoted to its cause. The Holy griffin empire or whatever its name is on the other hand seems like a nation that would not think twice about switching sides if it benefitted them.

but I'm not complaining. this seems like an awesome idea and it may also encourage you even more to have heroes from other factions to order your troops, despite a possible morale penalty.

@ Arzang:

I get what you mean, but you totally point to Haven as greedy. Yes, I get the whole snobby noble/merciless wealthy landlords idea, but were talking about knights here! Honor is a big part of the haven tradition, and I don't know if you are using the right form of 'feudal'. Feudal can mean, having alot of 'feuds', which are fights/ arguments. But if you heard that off a H5 website, they are probably referring to the 'Feudal system', used by the many european countries around the time of Columbus. A feudal system is where there are different social levels, peasants being the lowest, nobles being the highest. I do not in any way mean to insult your intelligence, in case you know this already, but when I first heard feudal as an adjective i thought it meant 'full of feuds'. But then i learned what it really meant, and it would make sense if someone used the term feudal empire, that would mean it followed the feudal system.

@Arzang: It is taken from favored enemy in D&D games. So basically, if you choose Ranger class (in NWN game for example) in every fixed lvl you may choose 1 'favored' enemy type (dragons, orcs, trolls, etc) and you will do more damage to the creature of the chosen type. Well, Ranger usually favored class for elves and I believe that is the idea of the sylvan faction's skill came from.

And for Haven unit's upgrading skill system. I believe it came from the same system (D&D) about human races. In D&D, Humans are famous for their flexibility. They can choose any class they want with more skill points per lvl. Well a bit different from Haven's upgrading skill but 'develop' is the key word. Human gain more skill points each lvl is a symbolize of fast developing in D&D.

so to sum up the skills of each faction:

Haven: Upgrading units

Inferno: Unknown

Necropolis: Necromancy

Sylvan: Favored creature things

Dungeon: Some weird feat with combo attack

Academy: Mini artifact making

Well, Inferno might be something like 'spawning' or something, because inferno troops focus on quantity over quality most levels, except for devil and a few others. Maybe the faction ability will just be greater weekly production and cheaper monsters.
