MMMerge aka Merge 678 links
Re: MMMerge aka Merge 678 links
Thank you for the new links and thank you very, very much for all of the hard work you've put into making my favorite games even better. MM6-8 are my most replayed games and I love that you have merged them together like this. My favorite class were the monks and I love the idea of being able to now play through all three with a monk or two in my party. You did an incredible job.

Small addon for Merge MOD: enhanced grounds for MM6 part.
https://disk.yandex.ru/d/Cb32BSIippSapA
Just put into your Merge->Data folder and thats all. no any file magic or replacing. To uninstall - just delete this file ))
Addon will automatically replace original MM6 Ground textures to New HD ones. See the screens below.
You can tweak some graphic by MM8.INI file by editing these lines (add sharpness for example and tinting):
Will add MM7 and MM8 textures later.

Not in MMMerge. Use Saturation and Softness columns of 'Data/Tables/Continent settings.txt' instead.vladimir-maestro wrote: ↑13 Apr 2024, 11:12 You can tweak some graphic by MM8.INI file by editing these lines:

Re: MMMerge aka Merge 678 links
About the Revamp. I'm curious about the new promotions added for MM8. Without having to play-test, can anyone tell me how you promote? Is there a new quest involved for each new promotion or what are the requirements? Presumably the same NPC that gives the 2nd promotion also gives the new 1st promotion?
I'm trying to create a class mod that reworks and renames a lot of the classes, separating them from race for all the but the dragons. I'm doing this for the Revamp, but instead of having classes/races tied to a specific continent, I'm trying to ensure there is no duplicate promotion option, this way for each promotion, there is only one quest giver, and if I can, I'd like to spread them out as much as possible, requiring players to travel more between all 3 continents to seek promotion, I think is a plus. This way each individual promotion quest across all 3 continents has a purpose. For players who like to have a reason to go between the continents before completing one plot line, this gives you a reason to travel sooner.
So, I'd also like to know what restrictions are in place for being able to undertake and complete each promotion quest. Is that a text TSV table in the lod archives? Is there some lua script governing each quest and promotion? I know it doesn't auto-promote the party anymore, so I'm assuming there must be some new scripting covering how it all works. For all promotion quests, I'd like the final promotion quests to be available even before completing the previous quest. This way, if you're swapping out party members, and trying to complete a late-game promotion quest for a party member who already has the second promotion rank.
Also, for MM7, it looks tricky. I want evil and good class upgrades to be available regardless of how far the story has progressed. I don't want the promotions to be tied to the progress of the MM7 plot, and I don't want access to evil/good second tier promotions to be limited based on which side you choose. There's not much I can see around clashing themes, so the idea of a light/dark side group of classes working towards a common goal works well for me. After all, this isn't DnD. You can slaughter a village as a Hero and Priest of the Light. The only issue is a few quests seem to have opposing goals that in MM7, such as giving the "Perfect Bow" to different NPCs, and rescuing Alice or capturing her. Alice isn't too difficult to fix, as each quest takes place in a different location, and I think they must be two separate instances of the NPC, so I could change one of them to be a different damsel in distress. Also, I think the perfect bow one might be something I could change by making a unique item and item model for two different weapons, one the "Divine Bow" and the other the "Umbral Bow", and perhaps if I could, put them in two different locations, and change quest flavor text, and the quest triggers/conditions for whichever one is located in a different place. I don't recall if you had to lose the item or not, so I'd probably change that to allow the player to keep it, and the quest objective to simply require you find it.
