Unable to create character combinations

Hi all,

I have just found this amazing mod in one of my favourite games series, and I can not wait to experience it all.

Sadly, I have run into an issue when I create characters; an example of the problem is, say I select one of the vampire portraits, I then change the class to the sorcerer. When I finish creating the characters, load into the starting town and open the skills list, I do not have the vampire ability skill, and I do not gain any of the vampire racial skill bonuses.

I have tried having the icon in the top right-hand corner toggled off and on, and this has no effect. I have the latest versions of the mod as well as the latest patch.

I hope someone can advise me on whether there is a way to fix this issue or if I am doing something wrong.
