Hi all! I'm new to the board, but absolutely love all the classic Might & Magic games - M&M7 is my go-to when I am looking for something to play and the flavour of the month has dried up or I've finished my current gaming bucket list (hard to do between work and the never-ending stream of games... although the drop in quality of releases has made it easier!) although I'm trying out the new merge mod lately
When you guys replay M&M games, how do you replay them? (See poll! )
How do YOU replay?
Re: How do YOU replay?
In the recent years I've tried to make slightly weird parties. The latest one is a group of 4 archers in MM6. Each one of them has different preferences, so I don't give everyone the same magic schools. A couple of years ago I did this with 4 druids, using almost exclusively earth magic (it's amazing fun to rock blast everything, just not when you realize that diamond gargoyles are immune to earth). The strategy to make it challenging is basically avoiding light and shadow, because those make everything soo easy.
Re: How do YOU replay?
Item Randomizers, for my part, especially for 6 with how wide open it is. It's always fun to puzzle the order of progression back together from the shattered pieces of the plot.
7's item randomizer is nice but since it doesn't adjust map scripts to allow for free roaming regardless of main story progress my runs all end up getting bottlenecked by the Dwarven Elixir getting shoved somewhere that it absolutely has no business being in (most recently at the bottom of the AvLee Temple of Baa).

I select a mix of classes to increase the difficulty. Avoiding light and shadow is essentially the trick to making it difficult because they make everything so much easier.sirjivrano wrote: ↑25 Jul 2023, 23:49 Hi all!
