Thanks goes to Kliff for betatesting the new updated version of the Race / Class Unlocker (play as any MM6-8 race and starting class combination on any selected continent).
Changelog for V2: now featuring Dwarves and Racial Classes for the races that originally weren't supposed to have them. Yay for Lich Dragons and Dragon Liches.
Also unlocks stuff for the "fourth continent" (since the character creation contains information about what class and race can start on the "Fourth Continent"... I do not know what that is for for the moment, so enjoy! xD )

Can the first character be dismissed? Because otherwise if you make a dragon by using my unlocker as a first character, then you are basically soft-locking the progress of the story of For Blood and Honor campaign.Xfing wrote:They were made equippable again in one of the latest updates. Hi all, great work as always.
I'd like to experiment with adapting some of the armors from a few other mods I've seen to fit the MM8 paperdolls in my own version of the Merge. I see several of you have already done so with some of the vanilla armors from MM7. What tools did you use to do this? I have minimal graphic design experience, but I'm always willing to learn new things.
As for the armors I want to adapt, they're not terribly lore-friendly (I like it that way!) and are the creations of other modders on CH, so that means it's probably not appropriate for me to upload what I produce (though I could try to seek permission). I'm mainly just looking for basic direction on how to do it/what tools to use. One step at a time

A fix would be simple in principle - make every character dismissable, and only the last character left in your party starts acting the way the first character works now.

If anyone wonders, here's how I made armors in GIMP:
-Put an armor onto a screenshot from the game, set layer boundary to image size.
-Use Warp Transform (W shortcut) - use NoHalo filter, set preview to low quality (don't remember the exact name). Do the job with it starting with very big brush size and going smaller for finer detals. Don't apply the transform yet!
-Zoom out to 100%, hide all layers except the armor and make a screenshot. This will give you transformed armor with nearest-neighbor filter. Now switch to any other tool to apply the transform.
-Paste the screenshot, using color selection tool cut the armor from it. Move the nearest-neighbor armor to match with the smoothly transformed one.
-Create mask out of nearest-neighbor layer, invert it, switch to smoothly-transformed one and press Delete to remove semi-transparent border. Now place nearest-neighbor layer below the smoothly-transformed one and play around with transparency on smoothly-transformed one. Something like 60% usually look best.
-Then do the problematic parts with similar transform routine and with pixel art if needed. I prefer Warp transform even when I just need to rotate an arm.

Ah, I see. Thanks for the reply. Also, not certain if this is a bug or not, but when looting, artifacts and relics appear without the notifications for "artifact!" and "relic!" All that appears is, for example; "gauntlets" or "cutlass" etc. I had to keep identifying everything I picked up, as many times I found artifacts and relics for apparently "normal" items.

Hello. Sorry for not being active recently, i was ill.
I did few attempts on new interfaces, technically it is possible to switch interface upon continent change, but i was not able to draw any good looking interfaces, or even combine old one to fit mm8 frame.
Also i thought about usage of some spells. Tell, me, how often do you use "Slow" spell? I'm thinking about make it less respect enemy's earth resistance and make it work on multiply targets if grandmaster casts it.
I saw big list of bugs and suggesstions above, i'm keeping it in mind, thank you.

I sometimes use Slow when I need the upper hand against a single mighty foe such as Master of the Sword. It is a bit lackluster because it may fail, but when it works, it is like a much weaker, cheaper Paralyze - i.e. quite good. If M or GM Slow ignored Earth Resistance (or maybe a part of it depending on skill), it would be a nice buff. An area effect would be too much imo.

Slow spell is kinda cool, I'm all for it if it starts ignoring earth resistance at some level of expertise.
And what are your thoughts for my circles around characters and the ornamental selection rings (currently for MM6 chars only) a few pages back?

You can reapply latest update, but i'm sure problem somewhere in installation. Make sure "Read only" flags are not set, path to the game folder does not contain non english letters, and game is not installed in Program files folder. Install patch you've downloaded from my link, then extract MMExtension and MMEditor, apply latest upddate after (i assume merged game files are already there).
I've made some very minor changes, but don't remember what, i got ill too suddenly. Maybe skill teachers will name both possible promotions now, and boy messenger will give letter about scavenger hunt in Harmondale too. I've spent more time on tech side, for example now it is possible to get list of monsters in party's sight and directly show spell effect on specific monster.
I've looked at pillars. I don't know. I have very bad taste in terms of graphics, anything i am not accustomed to makes me terryfied. Interface repainting looks like too hard task at the moment.
