Ivan the Terrible

Unread postby Kalah » 08 Apr 2015, 15:36

No, the Ivan "the strategist" figurine doesn't look too terrible, actually, except for the fact that his heavy cape seems to be blowing in the wind while his hair stays perfectly in place. I didn't know they had hair gel in Ashan. <img src="/images/smiles/smile_teeth.gif">

I first thought his cape was a shield glued to his butt. ;|

Why? I'm not being compensated for it.

Perhaps Ivan "breaks wind" like a war horse to get that cape flapping?

I'd prefer Ivan breaks his leg on that stag horn.

For some reason, the pose doesn't seem very... compelling? Dynamic? Powerful? It looks like he's just standing there, kinda bored.

I think it's because he'll be standing still for the duration of his owner's life span unable to do anything but to stare to humans and their idle lives.

Nothing against Russia and the Russian people, but flooding the game with historical characters based on their history, really starts getting on my nerves. How long till Rasputin and Stalin villain combo shows up?

Parcaleste - umm, isn't Ivan from the previous game? That one was developed by a Hungarian studio and the characters actually created and mandated by Ubisoft, who are French. I too found names like Ivan and Svetlana really out of place in a fantasy world, but it's not the Russian's fault, it's Ubi's fault. :)

Also, are you implying this Ivan guy is THAT Ivan, aka Ivan the Terrible? Did they say that somewhere?

Y'know, if this statue was instead of some iconic HOMM unit like a black dragon or a hero like Crag Hack or Sandro... but this newbie whom not many people care about? frankly, when I look at the statue, nothing says "Heroes of Might and Magic" about it, just generic dude in armor with stag horns (he probably goes through doors sideways).

That's a fair point.

It's so obvious to use an iconic character that now I'm honestly not sure if the company is serious or trolling. :|

Oh my. Ivan's unfortunate armor design.

Pay attention...for it proudly points to his peepee but that dagger-end will make him a woman the first time in battle. <L>

Ubisoft just doesn't know how to design practical armor, do they?

Evidences so far suggest they do not.

At least his foe will take note of his penis.
