It looks like their H5 inferno hero official artworks painted gray. Looks like a huge mismatch between art concept and faction culture.

And vampires looked exactly like that too. ;) Oh well, I'm bit tired of the art designs presented for H7. I'll only focus on Heroic now, which pretty much depend on ourselves.

My thought exactly. Sometimes sticking with the generics of a faction is better. Especially with a Necro faction. A pumped, muscular Undead... how did that happened?

Art Guy 1: Do you think we should come up with some new art for the new game?

Art Guy 2: Nah, let's just reuse the art models from the old games.

Probably happened like that.

Maybe he used the stone mask.

I don't know... disregarding everything else about the artwork, it looks like it would be an extremely clumsy warrior. In a way, it kinda looks like some guy stuck in a bulky suit. The more I stare at the helmet/face, the goofier it seems to me...

That axe-scythe is mildly cool, but highly impractical. I assume that every time you tried to slash somebody with it, you'd just end up poking them with one of those spider-appendage-like-decorative-pieces (that is a really clunky description for something that should be quite easy to describe). At this point, I'd even guess that the blade is intended merely for intimidation, and it's actually supposed to be a spearlike weapon.

@BlackDragonSlayer
I guess that is ornamental. Only on tournaments and on portraits, or cards. Like mighty seven of diamonds.

In real battle they need to use something more practical - sadly you never see it. As you are stick with iconical (or heroical) image replacement.

Indeed the game is somewhat too much detached from the real world. Why is that is better to ask these French guys. ;)

Either way, I can't help but feel the design would be more fitting as some sort of high-level RPG boss.

The other one on the blog somehow makes even less sense. I think somebody got carried away with the decorative lines...

In that style they are consistent from H6, disproprotional post Art-deco, kind of.

Even H5 was more normal and until that it was superb!

Or inspiration. For your warriors in battle. Like I am inspired by it. Inspired to poke my eyes out because of the design of this debacle.

Necro magic heroes look similar to haven magic heroes and I hope they're not going with any more palette swaps. :disagree:

LOL, true that about tripping.

Also, this screams "armored drow" to me, not death knight. Kinda happens when the undead steal the whole spider and purple motif from the dark elves...

How many posts will I have to spam until I can get rid of this awful "lich" title? I want no association with necropolis ever again. :(
