Hi there. Sorry for a bit of shameless self-promotion (no one likes that), but just as it's written in the title I've made a series of quite detailed (though amateurish - I'm no editor and my voice sucks) M&M videos and these forums are, well, among the few ones who can still appreciate something like that.
I've made two sets of them - the larger ones are aimed at explaining the newer player how to build parties powerful enough to get through the games without much suffering. I've tried as hard as possible to make them non-spoilerish, newbee-friendly and non-imposing. Meaning that I don't try to tell people exact solutions - I just list good options and offer to choose from them.

I guess most people here know that stuff anyways, but hey, maybe those vids can be used to persuade some fresh M&M X fans to enjoy the older games. And for the experienced fans there's the set of the singleton vids, dedicated to yes, going through the series with just 1 character in your party. Once again, I'm not trying to give you detailed solutions (because to do so would be to spoil your experience), just explaining some (at times obscure) details and advocating the whole idea.

I've made a series of detailed M&M VI-VII tutorials

Just watched the video for M&M 7. Some interesting points, especially for newer players, or those who have forgotten most stuff. Though I don't really agree on not emphasizing the importance of Grandmaster Body Magic, for the protection from Magic spell. Otherwise, good work, will try some of the things I heard

TBH, I think that the popularity of Protection from Magic stems more from the psychological feeling of safety it provides than from its practicality. I mean, we've played through the M&M VI where it was absent and it's not like the game was impossible, right? Once you learn all the tricks, you can go through the control center without dying once (I did that in my singleton run; with the super goober room cleaned up, obviously).Double_Trouble wrote:Though I don't really agree on not emphasizing the importance of Grandmaster Body Magic, for the protection from Magic spell.
And insta-kills of various sorts were much more common there than in the M&M VII (where it's only the Titans and Ancient Wyverns). Likewise, you have much better curing options in VII - together with the clerical magic, you have always available Divine Intervention or Sacrifice. And gold is rather useless in VII so you can afford to have that 50% gold grabbing Master Healer. And early game disabling areas (like dwarven mines) are often softly padded with lots of stone to flesh poison scattered around. So it is neat, but hardly necessary.
That's just my opinion, however.
