Dark Screen Error

This might be a stupid question, but in all my expansions of HoMM6 the screen will randomly go very, very dark so hardly anything can be seen, making it virtually unplayable. This generally happens initially in Pirates of the Savage Sea, upon first combat of Danse Macabre and randomly at any point of SoD. It does not happen in any of the other campaigns, only the expansions.

Is there a way to fix this? I'm playing through Steam and Uplay and I believe I have the latest version of the game.

Any pointers would be great. I'm pretty computer illiterate so having a hard time figuring this one out on my own.

I actually just experienced this too. However, I was playing the Necromancer campaign of the original games. Any ideas anyone?

Look in this thread near the bottom where it is explained how to fix this. It doesn't work for everyone but maybe you will be one of the lucky ones! Good Luck.
