Have you actually played it?Bandobras Took wrote:Ignoring the recklessly inaccurate exaggeration, the most common reason I saw that people were disappointed with MM9 is that it was unfinished. In case it isn't clear, that means they wanted more of the game, not less.

Er . . . yes, that was my point. Did you read what I was responding to, which claimed that the reason people hate MM9 is because of its aesthetics?GrayFace wrote:Dwarf on the left for sure.

His Point Exactly!Bandobras Took wrote:That's "Thjorgard."
The names and the setting were based on norse and celtic mythologies. That was also a departure from Central Europe's and Graeco-Roman mythologies, which the earlier games were based upon (the same goes for the Heroes games).Nomad wrote:People hated it for many reasons.
Personally, i was hating it for moving away from the old world, for being long & boring, and for unreadable names. Throjgard.. like, wtf? How do I remember or even read that?
More over, there are exactly one champion for race/gender combination.Avonu wrote:As for classes - each one had one champion from one race on begining, trained by Forces of Dome, but later these champions tought others, how to be paladin or sorcerer, so there was no race restrictions after all.
Agreed, that Nomad's claim was wrong.Bandobras Took wrote:Er . . . yes, that was my point. Did you read what I was responding to, which claimed that the reason people hate MM9 is because of its aesthetics?
It's why patch by DJAlex gives this spell Forad Darre.GrayFace wrote:Then I hated that walking was too slow compared to distances (now I know there's a spell to speed it up later in the game, but I dropped playing earlier).
You cannot complete any promo quest before getting it. Though you can complete some necessary steps. E.g., you can destroy Yobbos before getting Crusader's quest, or learn a Magrib before getting Scholar's quest, but you still can get the quest and then complete it. Perhaps you just forgot to pick a party member to become Paladin.GrayFace wrote:Then I finished 2nd promotion quest for my ?paladin? before getting the quest for it and didn't get the promotion due to game bug.
Mine not.GrayFace wrote:So, my reason was its unfinished buggy state.
