MM 6/7/8 Total Remake

Nice progress!
This way you'll manage to reach a working point, and maybe from there this project can gain more attention and you'll have some help in doing upgrades.
I've played and enjoyed many RPGs:
MM6,MM7,MM8,MM9, Fallout 1&2, Planescape Torment, Torment: ToN, TES3, TES4

Hi there am interested in joining the team, I am studying computer graphic specialisation on computer science faculty in my college.

I think that making remake from 6-8 would be absolutely great thing to do, as in general gameplay and story was very entertaining, though graphics- were really disturbing. My eyes were hurthing from the amount of visible pixels.

I hope that the team which is currently working, realise that making reamake doesn't mean to boost graphics only, there is actually quite a lot of things which are not really well delivered, and for die hard heroes fan it was really visible.

As much as I enjoyed playing m&m 7 and 8, I didn't really liked how in general countries- or should I say zones were portryed. Huge disappointment was both Tatalia and Bracada - which was placed on Krewlod lands and called "Baracada desert" .
While Tatalia (being my favourite country in Antagarich) hardly had any swamps at all, not to mention lack of tall jungle trees.

Krewlod got completely forgotten, and I really hope that You'll do something with it.

Another thing is badly placed mobs, Viverns were in Avlee, while their native land should be Tatalia, Behemots were in Eofol tunnels while they should be in Krewlod.

I made right now a very fast sketch how I think graphics should not only gain polygons, but also emit athmosphere :

(I spent like 20 mins on this one, but the point was to show what I meant with athmosphere).

So each land should have thier own colouristic theme and re-work. So we coud get immensed in zone and simply admire the job team did while questing and killing mobs. I can honestly tell you that I hardly like any location since they were really not looking even nice.

I'd really like to do more stuff but am not certain if my ideas and such would be accepted :D

Yea, your ideas are more fitting for the Might and Magic X project.

Isn't this project bascily a remake of all 6-8 parts?

And I'd really like to make some bigger and more detailed artworks, and hear opinions of other people who are actually working on that. :)

It's a remake using the same engine as the original games. It can be expanded, but it's still kind of limited. I'm not sure how difficult it would be to add support for modern OpenGL/D3D and modern shaders and all that, and without it, you can't really improve atmosphere and all. Plus, it would be a faithful remake, as far as I can tell.

There's absolutely no reason why creaures should be confined to just one land. Wyverns live in both AvLee and Tatalia, etc. Just like there are humans or animals in different lands.

Bracada wasn't placed in Krewlod lands, the part featured in MM7 is Bracada Desert, region in the northern part of Bracada, which houses its sky capital of Celeste. Most of Tatalia isn't explored in MM7, only an Erathian city of Tideater and its surroundings. Of course, it would be great to add more locations from these and other countries to the game.

Hello! Project Bight and Bagic 7 temporarily stopped. There is https://www.assembla.com/spaces/might-a ... ilogy/team. Decided to first decompile original MM7. If want to help then write to the project Might-and-magic-trilogy.
Searching for people with experience in IDA, C/C++ programmers.

Well imo if you want to do propoer remake you better work on new engine first.

At least on this page, (I know that this post is from 2011) sais that they were working on it: http://mmgames.ru/index.php?option=com_ ... 88&lang=en

And to poster about viverns, you see I wouldn't have a problem if certain mobs would be duplicated in certain areas, but you see Viverns were in AvLee and not in Tatalia. While tatalian armies were being enforced by those creatures, so lack of them in this area was rather strange. Hydras also appeares in Nighon, wasps also elsewhere. There was no centaurs in Avlee.

If i'd have any voice on "how to make a re-make", i'd pay attention to not only graphics, but such a details aswell, since they're also very important to get in tune with zones. And world in both HoMM and M&M series is very rich and great, I think that the reason why M&M was not as successful on pair with HoMM series was the fact that those two things were not delivered well.

But I want to make clear that I did enjoyed M&M games overall, and I see it's potential.

Tell me about this 'Remake' please. will NPCs, Monsters, Items, and anything else being shown as sprites in the original game will still be expressed as sprites or will it becomes polygon too?

First we remake the original engine, then it is possible to modify parts of it.
