How often do you actually get combo artifacts?

Unread postby grobblewobble » 30 Dec 2012, 14:00

I wonder how often you guys manage to find complete combo artifacts in your heroes 3 games? I've been playing a few artifact rich maps lately and in some 8 - 10 games I got:

2 times lifeblood set
2 times armor of the damned (damn its good)
1 times cornucopia
1 times bow set
1 times wizards well
0 times cloak of the undead king, dammit :grumpy:
0 times dragon / angel set (does that even happen, like, ever?)

Too small a sample to draw conclusions, but it makes me wonder. I read that the cloak of the undead king is "easy to assemble", but in these games I typically ended up with some 50+ artifacts and I didn't get it even once in all my games. And I did check the artifacts merchant too. In about half of my games I didn't find a single complete set at all despite my best efforts. Is this the norm?

Yea, the vial is pathetically easy to assemble, while the armours are difficult even when there are plenty of artifacts around. I know I had Angellic Alliance a few times, and I don't remember ever assembling Cornucopia. But I generally play XL random maps, and they are always full of artifacts.

For the record, the one time I found Cornucopia I didn't assemble it, but found it as a complete artifact somewhere.

Wizard's Well has always been rather easy for me to assemble, and is IMO one of the more unbalancing combo artifacts in the game for that reason.
Far too many people speak their minds without first verifying the quality of their source material.
