Basic town portal problem

My girlfriend has a problem with Basic Town Portal. Main hero ( that already use BTP several times in this game), can not use it anymore - the icon stays gray. He had necessary mana and movement points. There is free towns and forts, try it next day, try it to save and restart the game, but result is always the same. Also, any other hero can use this spell, but the main hero.
Any know-how?

What version/patch of the game do you have?
To use Basic Town Portal, you need to have a Basic Town Portal in the town, and you need to have the hero in the town. If the hero is somewhere outside, you can't use it.
Is this in the Campaigns? If so, what Campaign faction + mission?

all other condition is ok.. may be i can atach my save, somebody to try it..

Hmm, do you have a PAID version of the game? Try updating to version 1.8.
Is this in the Campaigns? If so, what Campaign faction + mission?
If not, is it a Single Scenario mission, which one?
Are you playing the game in Online or Offline mode?
