We have run a series of polls here on CH (thanks to all who voted) and I'd like to do a quick recap on the answers regarding future material. The reason is that I think it's time we started talking seriously about what sort of contents should be added in the future. So, let's have a look at some relevant polls:

We asked what the next faction should be (which one you'd like to see most), and just under 300 people had this to say:

48.31% Academy (Wizards)

19.25% Sylvan (Elves)

12.83% Dungeon (Dark elves)

10.47% Swamp (Lizards)

9.12% Fortress (Dwarves)

You also told us with a 58-42 majority that you wanted an expansion before moving on to H7, but the numbers on whether you would buy the Pirates... DLC were all over the place. I guess, then, this is as good a time as any to find out how you feel about the DLC vs. expansion issue. Instead of going all huge and making expansions, perhaps smaller DLC packs are the way to go? What do you think? DLCs or expansions - and what should be in them? Take part in our poll and comment below!

They did their recap with the first DLC, it is time to move on; if it is not BIG (in terms of features,creatures,...) enough for people to see/feel, nobody (most players) will pay for it. And the time needed for this expansion? At least 6 months after the game is balanced (in order to avoid re-re-balancing).

i would like to see 2 expansions. 1 with an academy campaign...and then 1 with both dungeoun and sylvan campaing on (as they kind fit together storywise)... and the academy campaing should have caspar as a hero...since he is "poppin up" in the necro campaign as a wizard...before he turns in to a necromancer himself as he was in H5...

And MONOXIDEBLUE: yes REAL Heroes fans buy their games..and do not download cracks etc...we support the game makers..in hope that they then will give a good game... but its probably because of people like you who may download the game that they loose money and make a half finished game in the end...

i would like to see sylvan and dungeon. But if they don"t gonna do sylvan or dungeon, academy is also great. Actually any faction will be great.

I like them to make a new dlc like the one they have made and later to start the first expansion. In the meantime they must have fixed the game so that the expansion may have not bugs. The new dlc they offer must cost cheaper than the previous one.

I strongly think, that dwarves should be included in the next expansion. The Tolkienesque human-elf-dwarf distinction was the most precise and interesting racial distinction in Heroes 5, whereas Heroes 3

had dwarves and elves both at the same faction...stupidity beyond belief... So: expansion, or possible two expansions with all missing factions from Heroes 5. Also lizard faction would be to damn familiar with Naga faction..

Kalah, you were killing me when you wrote races next the town's up there. Just let them be factions without 12 elf units. :(

I accidentally voted for DLC ionstead of Expansion. So the formula is:

DLC=DLC-1 and Expansion=Expansion+1;

And I want three factions for the Expansion: Dungeon, Sylvan and Academy and a campaign for each of them. Some more Combi-Artifacts (let's say three with 5 pieces each) and of course more maps. Let's say 5 more singleplayer maps, and 10 more (coop-)multiplayer maps would satisfy me.

Besides the expansion should permanently delete all Conflux-Crap, making the conflux-stuff available offline.

I would pay 40 € for that. Blutaxt

@The_Lizard:

Dwarves being side by side with elves was there from Heroes I. And why does it have to copy Tolkien's style? How come is it better? Maybe you prefer it this way, but that doesn't make it a better choice.

I'd rather have they sell the franchise to a publisher who actually cares about it

@hellegennes:

Anyway... You can't forget, that dwarves have their own dragon god - that makes them as important as Dungeon, Sylvan or even Academy factions.

You mean in Ubi's universe. I don't like the concept of dwarves and elves being in different factions but whatever. The concept behind the grouping of previous instalments was not different races. There were humans, magical creatures, demons, barbaric races and creatures, fairytale-folklore creatures, etc. The latter was the group of dwarves and elves.

Yes, I see your point, but Ashan for me is much more fulfilled world (even as an idea), than previous Might & Magic worlds. In my opinion, elven-human-dwarven disctinction (overall - faction planning) was one of the best things in entire franchise.

The_Lizard wrote:> whereas Heroes 3 had dwarves and elves both at the same faction...stupidity beyond belief...
Excuse me? Elves and dwarves were always allies in the Tolkien's universe. Elves were the firstborn, while dwarves were the secondborn. Their preferences were different, yes; but they were never in different factions. They were always fighting alongside each other against the forces of evil. As a matter of fact, dwarves built Menegroth for elves, and it was the most remarkable feat of engineering for a long time, if not ever. The only major conflict between the races was over the Nauglamír - but it had a silmaril in it, which had the effect of inspiring greed in others, so the conflict was generated, not natural. In the second age, both elves and dwarves again lived in harmony. And only in the third age, after the fall of Khazad-dûm (which, by the way, was also built by the joint forces of elves and dwarves) did their relationship begin to get worse.

So their portrayal in HoMM3 is very much appropriate - in the same faction, but living in different environments.

Nice comment, I'm not contradicting that, but... Following your logic, humans should also be in the same faction. Middle-earth's world probably has more connection between elves and humans, than elves and dwarves, don't you think?
