HOMM3 Mano-a-mano DEEMER vs. SOLMYR
HOMM3 Mano-a-mano DEEMER vs. SOLMYR
Playing random middle map (no underground) multi-player, possibly with human friend, hot-seat, above 5 players all-together. Who do you think is better?
Not only is Gretchin an excellent leader, but all who follow her will tell you the same thing - she's like having another mom who can take care of you.

Considering that both players were of the equal skills and given near-equal starting conditions, Solmyr might get an upper hand early on, especially if they make it out within less than 3 weeks.
One problem with random map, of course, is not all players might get equal starting conditions. IF there's a random army camp of say, a pack of Phoenix just within four steps from u'r initial town, u'd be in serious trouble before u can actually make it.

"Neither" is the best answer here so I voted others. They have decent spells that they start with, but really they don't scale at all compared to some of the other choices for their races (armorer/logistics) even on a map where you are likely to get hit early.BoardGuest808888 wrote:Both suck so u choose others ?
I am talking fast game, middle map, no underground, human to human with additional AI players on 160% and STRONG mobs.
This is day 4 with Solmyr. Won with zero loss. I had bless spell too and even forget to put 16 M. Gremlins from the castle to the army

I don't know what you are trying to say us. Solmyr battle can be won by any might hero and Deemer battle is pure suicide. There you test comfortably in single player and reloads if morale, but in MP¨you can't save/reload. If one boar there gets morale Deemer is toasted with only his spell.
Besides this, your opponent will know quite fast Solmyr is your main, and pendant of negativity is very common artefact, which retrogrades Solmyr at simple helpless wizard with a lot of mana but neither attack or spell power.
Of course, if the buddy you play with is using magic hero too, then there is no problem. If he actually got the idea better and is using a offensive specialist, your chances are very tiny.

Deemer wins with 3x Meteor Shower. If playing without save/reload i would have taken two harpiesSalamandre wrote:I don't know what you are trying to say us. Fast games you can forget about Pendant of negativity. It's irrelevant.
Both heroes are great. There is only one true issue regarding final fight with your human opponent : will you receive Wind (Solmyr) / Earth (Deemer) magic. I guess there is around 80% possibility.

If the battle actually happens somewhere at the start of the 2nd week (when main heroes are still at a low level) - wouldn't a magic hero have an advantage (or at least even chances) ?Salamandre wrote:Of course, if the buddy you play with is using magic hero too, then there is no problem. The test is biased. You show one battle and say: who can do better than Solmyr this one? A correct comparison test would be to show Solmyr and Deemer progression over one week game, because it is true that they can shine in ONE battle, but once mana is depleted they are helpless until they find a well or rest one day in town.
What would be relevant is comparing one week results (how well you develop your main town and main hero) using Solmyr then a ranger, knight or barbarian.
Don't let you fool the fact that Solmyr seems powerful on first days, he is actually very weak without his full mana and his leveling pattern will very often offer you weak skills for battle. The actual problem with magic heroes is there are too many "if". IF map is not long, IF final battle is early, IF no certain artefacts on, IF no immune to magic monsters, IF they get right skills, IF they are not caught pants down without mana. Very risky vs a human which is smart enough to exploit every of those IF.
I wish magic heroes could be better because I love the might vs magic confrontation but unfortunatelly it was never balanced in Heroes. Though it was a little better in Heroes 2, warlocks were feared early.
