That's because newer graphics have higher resolution. That's it. Most studios have decided the good art = realistic (whatever THAT means in a fantasy setting). There is something to be said for the cartoon-style of H1 and H2 (and to a lesser extent H3 and H4), but few people are willing to do that.BoardGuest808888 wrote:Indeed.
Somehow, I always consider the art in HoMM 2 to be the best in the whole series, regardless of graphical advantage of the later in the series.
I'd love to see a high-res version for H2 graphics, personally, but it is very unlikely.

I don't know, i think they'd lose some of their charm without the pixels being visible... a faster UI is about the only thing H2 would need imo.Qurqirish Dragon wrote: I'd love to see a high-res version for H2 graphics, personally, but it is very unlikely.

I can't see the pixels on your avatar. Does it mean that it loses its charm? I don't think so. The art style is what makes or breaks it, not the pixels.ThunderTitan wrote: I don't know, i think they'd lose some of their charm without the pixels being visible... a faster UI is about the only thing H2 would need imo.

I used the word "some" for a reason...GreatEmerald wrote: Does it mean that it loses its charm?
And yes it does, even if it's way less then i expected it would... H2 art is just that good i guess.
