Welcome! I'm also good at swimming. At least I strongly think so. Whatever, love it too much.

Hi I've been a member of the Heroes community forum for a few years now and I found this one searching for stuff on might and magic.
Is there even much activity left here or have things pretty much died down over the years?
This forum seems cool because there are much more discussions on the old might and magic games. On the heroes community forum there isn't much discussion on might and magic games, mostly on Heroes of mm.
So far its been fun to read over some of the topics in the might and magic thread.
I've started playing Heroes of mm many years ago but never got into the might and magic games until a few years ago, and realized how great they were. I've played through mm 6, 7, and 8 a few times and every now and then I am playing over them again with different party set ups. The first one I played was mm7. My overall favorite is mm6 because its the longest and has the least restrictions. The one I had the most fun with on first play-through was mm8, but now seems a little boring because there doesn't seem like as much variation when it comes to replay.
I mostly prefer and stick with the older pc games, but not that old. Like for example I prefer Heroes of MM 2 - 4, and might and magic 6, 7, and 8. In my opinion the newer games have gone down. Like I never got into HMM 5 or 6 nor did I get into mm9, but I've seen demos of them, and from what I've seen and also heard/read I'm quite sure I'd be disappointed playing them anyway. Sure they have better graphics, but graphics don't make a game good. Good graphics are only for people with no imagination I think.
From what I've seen and read of HMM 5 and 6, the new developers have removed some of the things I loved in the older ones and changed it in ways that turn me off of it. Like for one the heroes are all different, and the hero and creature images to me look exaggerated, unrealistic, and childish. Its not only that, but basically overall it just seems to me that the newer games have lost that genuinity that came from the ones before it.

Hi Bones and welcome to The Round Table!
You're not mistaken; the activity is fairly low these days, mostly because Heroes VI has not been the Community success we were hoping for. The Heroes Community is more active than ours these days, but we have more discussion on the old M&M games, I think.

Activity at HC seems higher for two reasons:
WoG
Off topic forums
I suspect HC may have an edge with H6 talk because I think more of the insiders hang out there and because people are there anyway for off-topic talk. However RT definitely has the edge with discussion of the older games (with exception of WoG). RT also has a more active news feed... and of course all the maps are here.
Overall, the sites compliment each other well!
