The Spanish site Torre de Marfil have posted an exclusive Q&A with the developers, dealing with several issues concerning the present state and future of Heroes VI, including neutral creatures, the map editor and some other surprises as well.

Essh, it seems that CH isn't the only fan site in need of a redesign. :D My poor eyes can barely see the text...

M&M is a great and beautiful brand and by the way we want to … ARGH!
* The deed accomplished, Ezio silently left the vicinity, leaving the lifeless corpse of the foolhardy producers behind*
That's the most stupid and unfunny joke I've seen in a while.

Q13 - How about that new faction you announced? Patch or DLC? In other words, will be it for free or for purchasing?

An important point that needs to be clarified: no new faction was ever officially announced. The confusion arose during a fan Q&A, where we answered a question about the idea of having new factions and that vague answer was badly transcripted. But like for Heroes V, this is something we think about, in one way or another.
And here we have an example of how to answer the question without answering it at all. :P
So, we're gonna pay for new faction or not?
Q16 - Many people weren't able to understand why sim turns mode were left out for release, taking into account that Heroes V had it since a long time ago. Have you talked about this or any other new multiplayer mode (multi offiline mode, just like playing by email but through Ubi serves) with Black Hole?

Sim turn is not exactly a trivial feature to develop. So right now it is not part of our immediate scope. For instance, sim turns were only introduced to Heroes 5 in TotE, its second add-on.
They were introduced in Farmers of Hate. Besides Sim turns were announced to appear in vanillia HV but were postponed to first add-on.
BTW - HoMM is not only TBS game. You ever heard about Age of Wonders, HVI producers? :P
From your answers someone could think, you only know/play HoMM as TBS game.

What a stupid interview. The message I get is: All these features you asked for are going to be fixed in the future.

Funny jokes with this Ezio fellow btw. That's even worse than the Russian jokes by Nival.

The only shred of actual fact in this "interview" impressed me beyond words. They created 4 creature banks. FOUR! 8| During beta I felt that maps were kinda empty, but this is actual statistics! Furthermore - they think it's enough! Why in the world would he wait for some "silent Ezio"? He must have burned to ashes with shame just the moment he said "We felt that it was enough for the initial game." :disagree:

They must have burned to ashes with shame just the moment they said here on CH that Ashan and HoMM V are true spiritual successors of the Might and Magic series.

OMG, this is one inane interview. These guys sound worse than politicians trying to bs the lowest common denominators in their countries.

Big changes are coming... yeah, heard that one before.

I have zero respect for these guys. Incompetent, unimaginative, unmotivated. Yawn.

Let's start with: "will there be a Random Map Generator and when do you intend to publish it?"

Yeah that's already on my list of questions, along with the campaign editor.

What are they going to do about the balance of the game, which is crappy at best.

I am getting the vibe that they feel the game is pretty balanced.

They don't. But it's hard to fix over night. So the balance is bound to be adjusted for months to come ... You should keep sending in your opinions about it, though, to help them see the imbalance.

I do not remember whether it has been asked about H6 or was it only H5 or whether it was answered at all, but anyway: regarding balance you can ask *how much is done by mathematical models and how much by empirical "feeling"+feedback from labourous testing*. NWC did balance creatures and AI behaviour by converting all creature stats into a single "fight value" (or was it the other one?) or Peasant Equivalent Opponent Number. These were found in simple model battles and the rest of balance was largely adding growth multipliers and ensuring that all factions end with pretty much equal value. Certainly such models have limits, but they are good to give a solid ground and leave only fine-tuning and fixing some broken abilities for playtesting. If all balance is built on "it feels fine for the initial release" argument, particularly in a game where town builds and tier systems are so similar, then they probably never get the balance right...
