Troop Comparison Chart

Unread postby Angelspit » 24 Apr 2006, 15:19

Sir Charles posted at the Genie's Lamp a cool chart that compares the stats of the creatures of each level. The best ratings are highlighted, and an analysis is included. It's funny how some creatures are not as useful on the battlefield as their stats seem to indicate. Of course, each creature's special ability must be taken into account.

What is your favorite creature for each level so far?

Level 1: Pixie/Skeleton Archer

Level 2: Blade Dancer/War Dancer

Level 3: Hunter/Master Hunter

Level 4: Succubus/Succubus Mistress

Level 5: Unicorn/Djinn Sultan

Level 6: Shadow Witch/Rakshasa Raja

Level 7: Green Dragon/Emerald Dragon

...These are only based in personal "touch", not the statistics or somekind of superiority against other units. :)

AND thanks Sir Charles for making this interesting comparison, very useful information! :D

I know not with what weapons World War III will be fought, but World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones.

I still vote for Black dragon, The attack and HP is why I think if Emerald Dragon attacks more its not by that much. Magic can hurt Emerald Dragon.
Let them think they are winning, when they find out they are losing, its too late.

Yeah I agree I find it hard to believe that the emerald dragon is better than black dragon. Still I haven’t tried them in battle...

Nice work with the chart

Well it isn't necessarily better. Even if he does get to act first, I will suffer less then if I striked first, and after that you can just blast him away with spells.

"Immunity to Mind Control / Shooter / No Range Penalty / Call Lightning"
Where's the No Melee Penalty? Especialy with the damn small BF and only 5 shots?! 8|

Eh, 5 shots are compensated by the fact he can call lightning an indefinity amount of times.

Am I the only one bothered that the speed of level one units is better than some level 7s?I mean angel being able to fly just one square further then the sprite!!Its logical that smaller units are more agile, thus having better initiative, but better speed? :| And the devil is teleporting. Why is his range limmited then?It makes no sence and it destroys its main tactics.

Well there always were slower and faster units regardless of levels.. I don't know how is that a problem now.

As for the ArchDevils, I guess the perfect explanation would be that, in the middle of the battle he is unable to concentrate enough to teleport at a long range :D

Campaigner wrote:"TT: Isn't No Range Penalty enough?!"
No Range Penalty for a lvl 7 is almost useless. Especialy as he has the lowest initiative of the lvl7's and they can all cross the BF in 1 move (nightmare has 8 speed and can reach a 2x2 creature that's in fron of him right away). The NRP is good to balance the fact he only has 5 shots, but without a NMP his effectiveness is halved after the first turn.

At leat the big one has the so called "Call of Lightning" ability hope its effective enough to overshadow the lack of no melee penalty.
