What, no books thread? THE OFFICIAL BOOKS THREAD!
Cheers everyone!
I'm a huge sucker when it comes to fantasy-setting books, they're my favorite read out of the whole lot of genres. And I gotta be honest, this whole passion of mine for fantasy started while playing Heroes of M&M 3, which is by far my favorite game ever.
So I was curious as to what do you guys prefer when it comes to books, especially which authors and books they've written. Me, I'm a HUGE fan of George R. R. Martin's AsoIaF seris (by far my favorite series of books, can't wait for HBO's tv show adaptation), and, of course, Tolkien's Middle-Earth books.
I've read some of Jordan's Wheel of Time books, got to the 4th book, but stopped, since by then I mostly continued reading solely to see what my favorite characters (Perryn, Faile and that old-but-cunning minstrel, what was his name..), since the main plot was a bit too cliche for my tastes (but still good, mind you). Now I'm waiting for the 5th book to be translated in romanian, since I've already bought the first 4 from the same romanian publisher, but my point is that all the general anxiety I had while reading those books was gone, unlike in AsoIaF.
I've been thinking on buying Ursula K. Leguin's Earthsea series, but I'm not so sure if it's any good, I'll have to read around some blogs and stuff to check (oh and your opinions would be very much appreciated too )
Oh and also while I'm at it, I'm waiting for my copy of the First Trilogy of the Black Company to ship in, heard it's really good, hope I won't be disappointed.

Well God damn, sorry about that. Don't get me wrong, I've been looking for it in the first 4-5 pages, and didn't find it, and since there wasn't any search option, I thought that it must've been long buried.
I've been reading the forum for about 1 and 1/2 years now, but I forgot the password for my last account, so I decided to make a new one (besides, I never really posted much, if anything at all, on my previous one).Milla aka. the Slayer wrote:Welcome to the forum.

You forgot the part where they said it was a GoW clone that came a few years too late...
And did you bother to read the article?! I'm guessing no by how you are refering to the game instead of the re-issued with extras poem.
