can i remove a skill i learned?

Unread postby vampelle » 26 Nov 2011, 12:59

this may be strange, the thing is i dont want to play all over the level which took me long time.

so i was wondering if they a way i can remove the skill which i learned earlier, so i can get the skill i want later?

and increase the levels of others heroes which seem are not carried forward will i ever get them with the same increase skill later or not?

playing this one after very long time. since my system can handle 6 :(

The only way to remove a skill you learned is in the TOTE expansion, by visiting a memory mentor.

Outside of that, if you aren't playing a TOTE game, you could use cheat codes to learn/unlearn what you want, but that's it.

I find a good trick is to save your game at the start of a mission and use cheat codes to level up your hero so you know what skills you'll be offered, and know how to plan ahead, or to restart the map if you don't like what you're offered.

The below link has a good explanation about the cheat codes necessary to modify your heroes skills if you want to go that route.

Jesus saves, Allah forgives, Cthulhu thinks you'd make a nice sandwich.

Yes the cheats will work in version 1.60, as long as they're the cheats starting with a '@'. Some of the older simpler cheat commands without the '@' were disabled in patch 1.2 (something about preventing multiplayer cheating I think was the reason why), but there's a '@' version for all of them.

(HOF) Hammers of Fate is the first expansion to Heroes 5.

(TOTE) Tribes of the east is the second expansion to Heroes 5.

Don't forget, you have to follow the instructions on the page to activate cheats in your game first.

If you cheat than reload your game (such as reveal the map then reload to unreveal it) it won't count as cheating.

Not sure what will happen if you cheat and don't reload your game, I've never done it before.

@ChangeHeroStat("NAME",0,99999999999)

That gives the hero who's name you entered 999999999999 additional XP points (the 0 means XP), which will bring you to the maximum allowed level. You'll have to look up the name chart at that site for the internal name of some heroes. Some, like Markal, have different internal names.

Here's the answer.
When you input the command to learn a skill (not an ability) that you don't know yet, you learn it at Basic level. Type the command again to learn the upper skill levels (Advanced, Expert, and Ultimate for the unique racial skills). Each time you input it, you will gain a level in the skill, until you reach the maximum.
