Nature's Luck

Unread postby Darrow » 31 Jan 2008, 00:49

I am playing the Rise to Power 2 custom map ToE version. My principal hero (Findan) has Elven Luck, Refined Mana and Familiar Ground and is Expert in Light Magic, Luck, Logistics, Attack, Enlightenment and Avenger. As I read Skillwheel 3.0 I should have Nature's Luck, but don't. What am I missing?

I have no answer to your question as I'm only just starting to play H5 for real but I'm intrigued as to what "Elven Luck" is? :)

Elven Luck is an advanced Luck skill available only to Sylvan heroes.

How many times have you leveled up after meeting all of the pre-requisites?
What two abilities were you offered the last time you leveled up?

If you have Expert Enlightenment and Expert Attack without three abilities filled in for each, it might just be offering you crap you don't want instead of offering the ability you're really trying to obtain.

For nature luck you need; Expert Avenger along with its assoiciated paths, rain of arrows, imbue arrow and deadeye shot. Then you need Expert Luck, paths are; soldiers luck, resourcefulness and elvan luck. Then Logistics, paths are; pathfinding, silent stalker and familier ground. And lastly you need Expert Light magic, paths are: master of wrath, storm wind and refined mana...

Please note, it is critical to get all the avenger skills as they open up the other paths needed for Nature Luck. Hope this helps ;)

Natue's Luck

Unread postby Darrow » 01 Feb 2008, 04:35

Findan has the following stats:

Expert Avenger-Imbue Arrow-Rain of Arrows-Deadeye Shot
Expert Attack-Tactics-Archery
Expert Light Magic-Master of Wrath-Storm Wind-Refined Mana
Expert Luck-Soldier's Luck-Resourcefulness-Elven Luck
Expert Logistics-Pathfinding-Silent Stalker-Familiar Ground
Expert Enlightenment-Intelligence

He is level 31 and has achieved 2 new levels since I had what I thought that I needed for Nature's Luck (the two additional Attack skills were the last two that I got). Again, what am I missing?

It's possible (I think) that you've just had bad luck (no pun intended). I try not to leave many openings in my abilities list when I'm going for specific abilities to maximize the chances of being offered the "right" ability.

On your next level up, there are a total of 7 potential abilities you could be offered (Battle Frenzy, Flaming Arrows, Arcane Intuition, Scholar, Graduate, Wizard's Reward, and Nature's Luck). Maybe you'll be offered Nature's Luck, but maybe you won't.

Now, if your Enlightenment was only Basic, you'd be down to just 3 potential abilities you could be offered (Battle Frenzy, Flaming Arrows, and Nature's Luck), so your odds of getting what you want would be a whole lot better.

[If anyone cares, these same principles make Memory Mentor tents far more useful. If you're going for a specific ability, then minimize the choices the computer can give you. If it's possible to set up a situation with only 1-2 choices, you're (finally) guaranteed to get exactly what you want.]

Nature's Luck

Thanks for all of the well thought out replies! I finally got it on the level up to level 33. Sadly, the mission was in the mop-up stage at this point.

It often is, as far as ultimates go.

The same could be said about the grail.

Something strange

Unread postby Antoine » 05 Nov 2011, 07:05

I got the nature's luck but not that way

I dont know why but the natures luck tell me required
* Flammed arrow, nature wrath who's required Frenezie insted of tactics
*Dead man's curse who's required elven luck and warrior's luck
*Stand your ground, Last stand and Vitality AND
familaird terrain who require: silent traquer and scouting insted patfinding

So more skill, more difficult and not the last, impossible to findan because he have tactics instead of frenezy. I have the same problem with all heroes of all faction. Each if them required 4 skill of third level

Somoene know what appened ?
