Patch 1.1 Already Available
Ubisoft promised a patch to update Heroes VI to version 1.1. It is already available. The update will be applied automatically when you launch the game when connected to the Internet. Below is a list of the various fixes:
• Adding Dynasty Weapons for the Altar of Wishes not present in version 1.0:
o Batu's Totem
o Assassin's Blade
o Will of Urgash
• Adding 4 new Multiplayer Maps and the map a “bridge too far” not present in version 1.0 for a total of 15 cutom maps:
o Brimstone’s Gold o Feuding Duchies
o Fortress of Honour
o Silence of the Ancestors
• Optimized memory usage
• Several AI tweaks:
o Build order improvements
o AI resource management improvements
o AI does not convert captured towns if it can not be protected
o AI does not build buildings in captured towns if it can not be protected
o Improved decision making between building and unit purchase
o Fixed marketplace usage (uses it when it is worth to use )
o Tuning on skill path choices for primary and secondary heroes
o Improved cooperation among primary and secondary heroes
o AI Captures mines faster
o Increased efficiency for AI town defense
o Advanced and basic town portal usage improvements
• Balance and General Changes:
o Default hero attack damage has been reduced to 300-340 at level 30 (from 400-450)
o Defend action gives +10 Might and Magic defense instead of +15
o Stand Your Ground and Mass Stand Your Ground do +7/+9+12 and +5/+6/+7
o Heal and Regeneration requires 20 mana to cast (instead of 15)
o Arcane Exalation III gives +3 Magic Power (instead of +2)
o Arcane Ward III gives +3 Magic Defense (instead of +2)
o Assailant III gives +3 Might Attack (instead of +2)
o Charismatic Leader III gives +3 Leadership (instead of +2)
o Defender III gives +3 Might Defense (instead of +2)
o Destiny's Chosen III gives +3 Destiny (instead of +2)
o Rampage bonus changed to +5/+7/+8 Might Power (instead of +5/+6/+7)
o Resilience bonus changed to +5/+6/+7 Might Defense, +10%/+12%/+13% Health (instead of +3/+6/+9 Might Defense, +3%/+6%/+9% Health )
o Counterstrike II and Counterstrike III duration reduced to 1/2/3 turns (from 2/3/4 turns)
o Archery III ranged penalty reduction reduced to -25%/-30%/-35% (from -50%/-75%/-100%)
o Idol of storms damage increased by 25%
o Frenzy charge removed, 4 turn cooldown added o Frenzy bonus increased to 10/30/50% (from 5/15/30%)

- No help file available for the Editor? Hit F1 - Nothing, searched the install directory - no apparent help file for the editor found so far. But there is at least a small Manual for the game - Lovely! So we get an editor without dokumentation? Nice! Guess thats why they didn't create a shortcut for the Editor it in the first place ... and as long as there is no dokumentation, this Editor is even less userfriendly than that of Heroes 5. Tinkering with it for one and half an hour, and none of the landscape modeling tools show any apparent effect ... placing untis works, but its not that exiting if your map is a completly flat plane of whatever tileset you chose to start. At least some shortcuts for navigating the viewport are similar to Maya, Blender and other CG apps.
On Top, Game and Editor is way to dark for CRTs, you have to raise Gamma so high to be able to see something that all colours fade to more or less shades of white and grey.

LOL - finally found out how the modeling works. Case of the button is not the button but the thing that doesn't look like a button. Wild.

Don't know if it's steam not having the patch up yet or what but I'm getting the same crashing error that prevented me from playing the last beta build. Editor looks... functional and less confusing than the H5 one but no help files... :<

It's not Steam. Mine will crash every time I try to try to play after logging in. And you have to have logged in once before you can play offline...

just tested things out, theres some bugs ingame.
-Sacrifice effekt instead absorbing 33% dmg it absorbs 100% DMG for whole 2 Turns, please fix it necro is not beatable in this shape
-Kirins special attack "frozen breath" doenst work, nobody is frozen after it, water elementar freezing shoot doenst work too, no luck no freeze nothing after shooting on it (with my ice breaker skill) The strange thing is, if I dont specc ice breaker I can freeze with Kirin my targets, preety big bug
-Light Elementar should dispell things when teleporting, doenst work too

As I stated in the other thread, I thought it went Gold mighty fast. While it is good the patch is available why wasn't it delayed a short time and fix it to 1.1. I know almost all game companies do it, but come on man release it when its ready.

Synchronize savegames so far has always failed. Does this work for anybody? Do you need something besides a Uplay account to make this work?
Another, reported somewhere else bug:
Week of Fever: Only two third of growth for all Creatures... and also put all your unbought unit on minus (ex. you "can" buy -60k skeletons). You can't play game with no creature growth so this bug is game killing thing.
Sometimes my units won't recive any damage. Enemy can hit them but no numbers of how many damage he done to my creatures are displayed = no damage done at all.

@Fuddel : I'm working on a quick start guide for the editor. I'm late because of the trip to Igromir last week and me catching the flu this week, but it should be ready next week. Which should leave you enough time to play the game at least a little bit

@Marzhin: good to hear. Nonetheless I am at the moment mostly eager to use the editor, because I played the skirmish map in the demo over and over and over again the last weeks ...

Any word, from in-house, on those of us that cannot even play they game due to crashes at the splash screen? I've been checking a couple of forums (here and Ubi primarily), but no proposed theories seem to be working.

This "splash screen" bug is annoying as F#@k! I've been looking for a fix all day and found only one suggestion which didn't work! WTF!

I fooled around with it for about an hour before I gave up to wait for a manual to come out or some YouTube videos to be made.
