H6 public beta discussion/info

Unread postby ThunderTitan » 03 Jul 2011, 10:48

So, let's make this the thread where we discuss the lack of NDA and post info about the beta, coz the bug thread should stay free of that.

As to not wasted time i
'll just link some stuff from HC at the start:

Creature info: http://heroescommunity.com/viewthread.php3?TID=35712

Videos: http://heroescommunity.com/viewthread.php3?TID=35719

And more neutrals from your truly:

Are neutrals recruitable? I know creature dwellings now just add to your town's overall creature growth (save for a one-off stack recruitment when you first visit) , but can you still hire units from elemental dwelling?

Also, are these elementals the only neutral creatures now?

There's also the Phoenix (it in the 1st link to HC) and the wolves, plus bosses...

See this thread for confirmed units: viewtopic.php?t=11408&start=0

But i didn't see any places to recruit neutrals so far... although the Elementals are each summon-able with their respective magic schools.

So going by google translate it seems that the Shadow/Black Dragon, Faceless and shadow Heroes will actually appear in the game at some point, and aren't just half done left overs... interesting.

Haven't checked for it, but none of the usual shortcuts seem to work... but you can set it to save every day, or week, or month, and it keep up to 10 of the autosaves...

@parcaleste
You may define shortcut for it. No idea, if that's truly working.

So, the new patch seems to have fixed the appearing-piece-by-piece graphic bug...

Turns out that the problem was the bug that makes keyboard shortcuts not work, and F5 is the quicksave key...

Too bad it doesn't work to load the quicksave file... and even if you only used in in skirmish the save appears in the campaign loading screen too, and trying to delete both made my game freeze...

Hello everybody.
Thanks for all these useful links.
Just one question concerning the spreadsheet "creatures". Have somebody an idea about what they are talking about BG, BW, BO, BC in column V, W, X, Y, Z. I have no idea.
Thanks for help
Regards

NB: very good idea to use Google Docs ;)

I managed to turn my game into windowed mode (I finally started up the game again after so many weeks :D) and once I did that the game became close to unplayable. The keyboard wouldn't respond. Any ideas how to turn it back to full screen? I clicked so many things but nothing seemed to work so ...

After you alt+tabbed or windowed game, shortkeys usually don't work. Check options - there should be some to change windowed mode to full screen.

Sometimes they don't work without you doing any of those things...

Beta key

Unread postby Durham » 12 Aug 2011, 14:29

I preorder the digital version of the game but my beta key was rejected as invalid or already used.

Does anyone else have this problem? Do I have to maybe wait until beta re-opens on Aug 16th or is anyone currently able to register their beta key? I can't seem to find much specific information on this, pretty confusing.

I've already sent a message to UBI support regarding this but I'm not sure how responsive they are.
