Heroes VI Main Theme Published
The main theme for Might & Magic: Heroes VI has been published on the official site. Entitled "Blood and Tears", the score is typical of the Rob King/Paul Romero team, and might give you something to listen to while waiting for the game's release on September 8th.
Since Ubisoft have made it available in .mp3 format, you can download the melody and listen to it again and again, use it as a ringtone or even set your alarm clock to use it.

Is it me or is the intro a subtle reprise of the sorceress' theme from HOMM2?

Yeah there is a little bit of the Heroes 2 Sorceress (and heroes 5 main credits theme for that matter) in the intro.

There were a few parts that felt very 'Zelda-ish' to me. Nice theme overall.
EDIT: I was surprised to find that the Heroes 5 Main theme is actually largely a resurrected version of the original Sorceress theme from Heroes 2. Since I never played the original (it just so happens that I went straight to Price of Loyalty), I had never heard the original theme before.

The original Sorceress theme is far better. I burned my own PoL cd with the original music just for that (well, almost).CloudRiderX wrote:I was surprised to find that the Heroes 5 Main theme is actually largely a resurrected version of the original Sorceress theme from Heroes 2. I think it is okay, but I don't find it really emotional like some of the other songs they created. I say 7/10.

While it doesn't have a catchiness to it, I think it's one of the better themes I've heard.

I think it does lack catchiness, but only because its more of a blend of previous themes than a purely original one. However, I think the nice thing about it is that you can listen to it repeatedly and it doesn't get repetitive or annoying, which is probably good considering we'll likely be hearing it often in the game.

Did not like it very much from the first time. After listening for a 2nd time it got better. We'll see how it fits in the game
