Might and Magic Raiders?
Might and Magic Raiders?
E3 is under way and as usual it generates some wild rumors and speculation. Ubisoft is at the show of course, but not showing Might and Magic: Heroes VI. However, some bloggers have noticed that Ubisoft has registered the MightAndMagicRaiders.com domain name. Another first-person action game for the PC? A Heroes VI expansion? Another console title? Or maybe a real-time strategy game? Who knows.

I would prefer "Raiders of Might and Magic". But the more games - the merrier.

Seems like "Might and Magic: Paydirt" to me.

I believe they already made a game like that, called Custer's Revenge.Angelspit wrote:>>I prefer The Magic Might Raid Her, but maybe that's just me.<<

"X of Might and Magic" means original universe, "(Might and Magic) X" means Ubiverse.Ya5MieL wrote:I would prefer "Raiders of Might and Magic". But the more games - the merrier.

Sounds amazing, I can't wait!
As long as it's not anime like Clash of Heroes. I mean guys, let's see what Ubi can do with the series. They have the resources to make a great game.

Might and Magic Raiders?
What is so different in this world? It can still be related to the Ancients. What? Is it because it's a different world with different creatures, factions and lore? NWC kinda did it every now and then. And maybe H4 was not that different in lore and factions, but MMIX had absolutely nothing in common with previous games on these terms. Ok, it had one and only mention of the Ancients in the introduction and the chance to fight a single dragon. Lore and creatures were vastly different, moving from general fantasy to Scandinavian lore. Gameplay was hugely different, as well as the mechanics, skill development and battles. The only other mention to the old universe was Roland but that was more of an easter egg than anything meaningful.

It's universe with one world in it and some dragons that made it... and so far it doesn't look like they got to anything more then one solar system...
They could easily be alien-dragons, and the world could be their attempt at recreating the Ancients planet making shenanigans... and of course Urgash is the one that thought Kreegans expies should be included too...
So if Ubi ever wants they can easily justify it with minimum lore changes (like the cosmic egg being a space ship) and just adding new stuff.

And that is what keeps hopes of salvation up, even as unlikely as it actually is.

Might and Magic Raiders?
By the by, Heroes never had sci-fi elements implemented because of how different the fanbase was related to the MM fanbase. Remember the death threats NWC employees received for even thinking of making the Forge? Sure, the series was related to the MM storylines but the plot elements were clearly avoiding the main plot behind MM, making it seem like it didn't exist. See also how Ironfist came to Enroth via portal, so did its refugees in H4 and MM9 (to the next world).
Might and Magic Raiders?
Why do they insist on putting Might and Magic first? It just sounds stupid. It's like if Spielberg decided to call Indiana Jones "Lost Ark Raiders" instead of "Raiders of the Lost Ark."
