Indeed, the doors looks quite thin. Not that it is important but... anyway...

"fake - like cardboard" is the best phrase so far i'd use to describe H6 in general. thx, GreatEmerald.

Well, it is a drawing. If they wanted it to look 100 % real, they'd just build a model city and film it.

Is it lack of texturing? It does have a styrofoam cutout sort of feel to it, can't say why...

Exactly. There's just something horribly wrong with it and you just can't put your finger on what that is exactly. Probably it's Uncanny Valley of some sort. Possibly a mix of low-res textures, strange texture colours and unrealistic mesh proportions.agni wrote:Is it lack of texturing? It does have a styrofoam cutout sort of feel to it, can't say why...

Kalah, I am going to assume that you live in the USA and you have never actually seen medieval castles and monasteries and stuff. These usually sport a gate encased inside walls. Some had doors several feet thick; others had two or more doors, between the usual several-metres-thick walls. Like this:

Or that:

Or even that one:

Also, in terms of engineering, it's really a crappy choice not to enclose the door inside walls, lest you want it to give way even by pure wind-force.

The cardboard look comes mainly from the fact that almost all these stuctures couldn't feasibly be made from stone, specifically the crenellations.
We could make these structures today with steel but that is beside the point.

Well it looks ok as a concept...
The door does look way too thin... maybe it's magic wood... give it some little blue pills and it becomes bigger and harder...
