My eyes, they burn...
It's the white mostly... the JRPG angel simply doesn't remind me of Heroes though.

I think the devs don't realize that they are not projecting the game's image through the box art.
When I see that, do I see turn based strategy? Heck, does the word STRATEGY come to mind when I see that box art? Hell no.
If I didn't know better, I'd say this was the box art for some JRPG where you take the role of an over-feminized angel.
Here's a hint Blackhole, if you want to symbolize strategy you want to:
1. Not lead anyone to be thinking in a specific genre: face close up, or just the text of the game title.
2. Lead people to believe it's a strategy - symbolize an empire, a battle, or an array of choices.

Although the VI pics are very nice, the proportion of objects ( such as castles, trees, mountains, etc ) to player ( hero ) are more balance, but it seems that there are too many redundant spots ( too many vacancies ) in the map.
Eg : the castle that can be "drawn" as 2x2 object now become 5x5 object which is takes more space. ( compared to HoMM III ).
This is not RPG, this is strategy ( TB game). Everything should be simplified do to fit the core of the game.
Any one ?

It's good that we have a semi-confirmation that some of the old factions will be returning in an expansions. How about all of the ones mentioned plus another new faction across two expansions?
As for the screenshot: Why do those creatures and heroes look so ugly, pixelated? Are there going to be any hexes, combat shadow, or any kind of indicator where a creature can tread?

Because that's how 3D looks while not in motion... they'll probably look better in-game...
actually any screenshots of a 3D game that doesn't have that slightly pixelated look when it's that up close have been touched up...
And we saw the square grid a few times in other screens.
