Still being translated, i guess. But +18 is rather huge.

Re: Helmet of Legend
So is +5 initiative, even for a relic artifact. They must have upped all the stats.agni wrote:Still being translated, i guess. But +18 is rather huge.

I don't think there is a translation to English. Most game assets have been originally written in English and they have writers to proofread errors, then that is translated to French, German, etc.agni wrote:Still being translated, i guess. But +18 is rather huge.
H5 strongly suggested otherwise, I know.
And three cheers for this ancient, rusty brain bucket.

That's what I'm saying.. 18 is huge whatever it is. And initiative? I thought they done away with that..

Pity they didn't stick with the HoMM V initiative system and improve it - I never could quite tell where a creature would land after being slowed or hasted, for example. But ah well, better going back to the HoMM IV system than that of previous games where speed and initiative were one and the same.

+18 might not really be that big - the last time we saw creature stats, the Marksman was 19 Attack, 33 Defense:

Also, man does the crop of this screenshot suck - all the awesome info is in the corners of the original - World Map UI, quick buttons to what looks like Adventure Map spells, and what seems to be the DRM connect-to-internet button (though, if optimistic, it could be 'connect to an online game'):

Previously you had to know if an artifact was treasure/minor/major/relic class. I don't think it helps or hurts to have the quality listed in-game. It may help a lot for the first time you see a given artifact, particularly if they do unusual things.Variol wrote:I really like the simple look of the screen! But why so wordy? "Relic Artifact" and "Might "power"?
As for might power, that does sound strange. Probably distinguishing it from magic power, but I don't see the need for the word power.
One possibility: there is something like "might power" = damage bonus in previous HoMM terms, and "might skill" = attack bonus. This would follow the HMMK idea of some artifacts/spells doing a numerical increase in the unit strength, and others doing a percent increase.

We already know it's Might Power, Might Defense, Magic Power and Magic Defense, right? Look at the Marksman image I linked below.

I am very curious to see how the single-resource system will work out to be. I hope it works well.
Might Attack and Magic Attack were considered, but it sounds stupid to use the term Magic Attack as an indicator for the strength of passive or healing skills and spells. As for might power, that does sound strange. Probably distinguishing it from magic power, but I don't see the need for the word power.

That does correspond to the image you've linked.. but WTF? What kind of "magic" attack does the marksman posses?!LongDarkBlues wrote:We already know it's Might Power, Might Defense, Magic Power and Magic Defense, right? Look at the Marksman image I linked below.
