Great strategy thread, and amazing to see these battle tactics played out. My compliments, benbird.
I would never dream of taking on monster stacks myself with odds like this; I would never think I could win, let alone winning and not losing a single unit!

I have a question, though. In the second battle picture of this thread - the one with the dwarves and the troll - you see that battlefield layout, and the clover allows that one spot where the troll can stand being covered from all sides but one. I've seen similar pictures in at least the 'Way Home' thread, where the layout of the battlefield plays a crucial role in the hero's survival - and I'm puzzled.
This can be no coincidence; mapmakers must be deliberately using this, but how do they create this? Maybe I'm a noob, sorry, but I'm also very curious about this.

thank you firstly!
About the terrain, this can be predicted by some tools. However, the tools is created by a Chinese master :) ,but it is written in Chinese.
by this tools you can make sure what's the terrain like in the combat on every coordinates about H3.
