Heroes VI Priestess
Priestess on the left, Vestal (upgrade) on the right. Dammit ... I was all ready to go "oh, look, another overdone Haven unit", but they actually look quite good.

I hate to nitpick... but why are they called Vestals when the goddess Vesta isn't in the game? It would be like if the developers introduced a unit called Christians when there is no Christ in Ashan.

Well, are you suggesting we also get rid of devils and every other creature connected with real-life myths and legends? Though I agree the name Vestal is not the best they could have come up with.

I'm definitely not suggesting anything so extreme, Kalah. But the word Vestal refers to a specific name: Vesta. Then again, Minotaur references King Minos... so I guess it's a moot point.

It is a very good point. I remember cringing madly every time I saw the word "Antichrist" show up in Wake of Gods.lotusreaver wrote:Then again, Minotaur references King Minos... so I guess it's a moot point.
But I suppose Vesta (like Minos) is sufficiently obscure to get away with it, and at least she's Roman. Greco-Roman deities have occasionally been transplanted into Might and Magic's lore (Erebus the Dark in Heroes III, Charon in MM6, the constellations in Swords of Xeen, the entire Norse pantheon in MM9).
As Kalah said, the devs are still looking for better ideas - the ones released so far are all preliminary placeholder names - and I'll gladly pass on any you come up with.

I think the point is the conotations the names conjure up, despite any specific mythological origin.
But who cares about technicalities... I mean, hey, feasty virgins!
I can't wait to ransack a few Haven towns!

BTW, the face is extremely familiar... I've been racking my brain trying to place the face.
Any ideas? Robin Wright Penn maybe?

Gods, i really hope so... timne for a new thread i believe.
And Vestal doesn't work so well without the 2nd part of the original name...

These are my favorites so far, really beautiful. Hope their in-game apperance are just as good!
Outer beauty that deceit the enemy...
"Hey guys the last troops of the pathetic army are only some kind of ugly beauties!"
*ressurect sound*
*the entire rest of the haven army revives with a sparkling noise*
*enemy facepalms BIG time!*
