Real question: will you buy this with Ubisoft DRM?

I'm wondering why there is all this forum talk when UbiSoft is going to use the ridiculous "always connected" DRM....

Are you really going to buy a strategy game that needs to be connected to the internet?

Why are you even talking about this game until they change their minds?

I wouldn't buy it without DRM either until the complete collection comes out anyway...

And haven't they figured out that an offline mode is always a good idea... even Steam implemented one a while back.

My net connection availability is not that good (I live either at a rented flat or at my pearents house, so it usually does not depend on me) so an always-connected DRM would make it a complete mess to play for me. I can barely stand "connect-at-some-times" DRM, like for Starcraft II but, ¿a full-time? forget about it... I will wait to play until they decide to remove it (either by patch or in a collector's edition, if we are lucky).

I'm pretty sure a few days after release a "mod" comes out that allows offline play much like starcraft 2

Voted Yes but I may yet change my mind and refuse to buy the game if Ubisoft hangs on to its no-good "web only"-policy 'til the bitter end. A Heroes game for me means playing with a real CD (DVD), leafing through a real manual when I feel like it and certainly not being always connected to the internet. Mandatory internet connection kind of pointless demands are just rubbish. I do not wish to let some mean company based "big brother" to watch my ever step which to me equals nothing but agressive marketing startegy where cash rules everything around me.

I hate being connected all the time. My internet sucks anyway.

This isn't an online multiplayer game like Warcraft; most people play single player RPGs and fantasy with storyline. Ubisoft and 3D0 made crap maps that are not even 1% as good as those by independent mapmakers. Many of us are still playing H3 and H4 thanks to the fun maps.

Must we go online just to satisfy their fear of piracy? I bet there's no real difference. Some hacker will create a mod within a month and offer a cracked version on bittorrent. Irritating DRMs only hurt the legitimate buyers and players who don't get hacked versions.

As a continuation, I won't buy the ridiculous DRM, which is ridiculous for Ubisoft; because as soon as they get rid of the DRM, I buy a Heroes game, love it or hate it, I'm a buyer; but not with this DRM crapola...

For example, I bought the latest Kings Bounty Crossworlds yesterday, with no reviews, etc., simply because I love the game and the Impulse DRM (or lack thereof) I can deal with...

I truly think all of our pissing an moaning isn't going to stop Ubisoft as long as they have Console sales to hold on to; but I still wont' buy their crap DRM.. ain't gonna happen.

Not sure about buying(depends on availiability) but that DRM they are having is just laughable. It screws up people who are buying game, and it does absolutely nothing in terms of protecting game from being pirated. In addition such DRM makes rare case of game that requires extra copy of game to play over LAN.
