I rooted for the Dutch, but ah well, fair's fair.

That squid'll end up on a dissecting table soon, though. For science...

Again a match f*cked up by a refferee...

What do you mean? Webb was excellent. The only mistake I remember him doing was that the Dutch should have had a corner kick after the free kick near the end. He could also have considered a couple of direct red cards instead of yellows, but both of those concerned Dutch players, so ...

From where I was watching and the opinion of the commentators here in the states, the Dutch felt the only way to stop Spain was to foul them. De Jong should have gotten a red card; from the replays I saw most of the ref calls against the Dutch were fair and occasionally lenient. So buck up and remember you still placed better than everyone else.

He means his team lost.

But i think the dutch players where saying that they should have gotten a corner kick instead of the spanish goalkeeper getting the ball when the spanish scored.

Agree on the corner kick part. There should have been more cards for Spain as well. Spain fell down pretty easy at some occasions. I even saw one bumping up to someone (dunno who anymore) then he fell down, and the Dutch got a yellow card of course!
De Jong really got out good after the kick in the chest. That should have been red.
True, Spain was better, but I really think we could have won by penalties...

I'm convinced!
That's what you get for trusting human fortune tellers. Unlike the squid, there's 99% chance a human will be a fraud doing it for personal interest. These psychic/caster losers just wanted a moment of attention, and potentially build some capital in case they turn out to "outsmart" the squid on this one. Turns out they were wrong.

Spain deserved this win. They played more football last night than the Dutch, and were less aggressive. Congratulations! The Netherlands did well in general in this championship. Also got lucky a couple of times, but overall they deserve the 2nd place and I congratulate them for that. But that's it (sorry guys, better luck next time).

Yeah. Still a bit funny. My New Zealander colleague will never let me hear the end of it, of course ...

Another piece of statistic is that Spain is the first team ever to win the World Cup after losing their opening match.

We're champions! A very rough game, but if the match went that way was because Holland heat it up. In fact, if we compare the faults of each team, specially the karate kick, Spain didn't deserve half of yellow cards. IMO, it's a real shame that a team like Holland, which stated "We're gonna play the ball" and such before the match, ended playing that dirty. Anyway, divine justice brought us victory after all! :-D

Brazil 2014 is going to be an absolute circus. I'm definitely not going, at least not the bigger cities like Rio.
