Superb are Master of Magic and Lords of Magic SE - the only problem with them is, that you can play them simultaneously
Are GOG games stable? As far as my memories flow back, Master of Magic was always a tricky game. Adding extra level of difficulty to prevent opponents casting spells which would surely crash the game. (Armageddon fe)
And I would like to mention that for LoM SE there are many mods, most noticeably this
one - GS5. For MoM there was multiplayer patch - no idea if applicable over GOG version too.
