Yeah, that was totally unexpected...
Of course it was! Uruguay and Paraguay weren't pointed as favorites... accordingly to the Press, it was the first time that South America had so many teams at the finals, matching Europe.

I hope the Netherlands put up a good match, because that's the only way to make Brazil play a bit better than usual. :D Oh, yeah, it's tomorrow morning already. :S

Owwww, the match, the match. :oex:

Go, Holland!

The Brazilians have 10 men on the pitch after a correct red card. In fact, they should have been given one more earlier (second yellow). I'm rooting for anything but Brazil right now, since they're so unsporting.

Don't agree with that another one, since the guy jumped and was not hit. Just made a scene. :?

But I agree with the fact if they don't play fair, won't win. :D

Whew! No more vuvuzelas for us! :proud:

*pout*

Whew...

:baby:

Oh, all right. Now, getting back to work. :-D

He should have gotten a second yellow for sabotage, not the ferocity of the tackle itself.

Brazil are out! :applause:

Man, this could be Holland's year - they've never won anything before! I'm luvvin' this. How about Germany - Holland in the final? :oex:

Wow, that was a sad last 20 minutes + overtime... both teams played like they where on their last leg... and Holland even had 3 players in the box vs the keeper and 1 brazilian for at least 10 sec and failed to get another goal...

We were even expecting this. The worst thing is when we can do it, but actually cannot. Having 3 x 1 would have settled down our spirits.

Whe worst is watching the main players doing nothing, not participating or moving. It was happening in all matches. But when a stronger foe appears, it'll mean defeat. They were playing rather good at the beginning, then it all changed. And Dunga wouldn't help much either.

Oh, yeah, "save the Galvão birds", people! :) It's all Jagger's fault. He went watching USA, and they lost. Then England, and then lost. And now was there for Brazil.

Someone....TIE HIM ON A CAR AND STRANDLE HIM BACK TO HELL!

Anyway, now I'll have to stick with the South American teams. I can even (cough, cough) cheer for Argentina if it comes to an end. Unless that Jagger blocke goes there and mess with everything.

WE F-ING WON. First half we saw the Brazilians breaking the Dutch people with foul play. The refferee wasn't that good IMO, because Brazil got away with A LOT of stuff. Heitinga kicked somebody and immediatly a yellow card, while Brazil kicked almost everybody and 'just' got a warning. Second half we played better, especially after the red card (what ref? you CAN give them cards?) Some changes were stupid because we didn't played them out (like TT mentioned). I'm glad we got payback for earlier years, and we deserved it!!!

I do agree. Not that I think there were that many faults at all, but the match stopped too much due that and only 1 minute added in the first half. I acknowledge that Brazilians started getting heavy on the second half though. After the first Dutch goal - God bless Felipe Melo... :hanged:

Dutch deserved it. I was not in a mood to see my team winning if it was by sheer luck or bumping down everyone.

OMG, the Uruguaian player almost went to a new world of dreams. Jumping like that to fall on his own head. 8|

What a match! What drama! What nerve!

Overtime of the extra time, saved off the line twice, the second was a hands, Suarez sent off and Ghana given a penalty! Then they miss!!!

Had Ghana scored, they would have been through. Instead, Suarez' sacrifice paid off!

Now we're off to penalties. :oex:

Germany was just awesome. I'm utterly happy, truly, to have seen such wonderful match. They played perfect, hit the awful Argentinean defense (it was known to be weak), and so it just went that perfect.

I was thinking that the match would be more equal, but again, now, I really hope that Germany wins the World Cup. I'd be ashamed if Brazil won (by any reason at all) knowing that there should have another team with that quality for the taking.

Good work! :applause:

Great game by the Germans; completely dethroned those pesky Argentinians. Just like last time. :)

I Actually SAW this match!

My niece Amie was at my elbow telling me what was going on. But even to my untrained eye, I can tell amazing maneuvers when I see them. Amie had been explaining that the Germans play like a well oiled machine. They always seem to have three players working together and they just KNOW where the other player is - like a freaky psychic connection. Right after she said that, the Germans made another beautifully executed goal.

I do kind of feel bad for the Argentine team. (The players are SO much better looking!) Their fans were so happy and enthusiastic until they fell 2 goals behind. After the 3rd, they were just sad little Smurfs.
