MM7 - NO INSTRUCTOR BONUS?

The role-playing games (I-X) that started it all and the various spin-offs (including Dark Messiah).

MM7 - NO INSTRUCTOR BONUS?

Unread postby jtmcgrane » 28 May 2010, 23:12

Hi,

I have noticed that instructor NPC's are giving no exp. bonus for quest completion. It seems that since I am receiving experience upon the completion of quests, then I should also be getting a 15% bonus from my instructor for that experience received as well.

Does anyone else know about this??

Any thoughts?

Thanks!
Donuts. Is there anything they can't do???

Not sure

I am not sure, I know that Might and Magic 6 does not give bonus exp for learning/Instructor/Teacher when you complete a quest...

But I don't really know, sense I have never really played much of Might and Magic 7... I have played through Might and Magic 4/5 (World of Xeen) several times and completed the game a few times...

I have also played Might and Magic 6 several times before but never completed it...

That's an interesting observation... And if they don't give you EXP from quests, that means Learning doesn't do that either, and that would explain why it's so useless.

The bonus to learning applies only to combat. Quest experience is set at a specific amount and is not affected by NPCs. I consider this a feature of M&M to encourage you to explore(it's in all versions of the modern games with the possible exception of MM9).

Learning

Dave O is correct. Quest completion experience is a fixed, programmed amount controlled be the game event code. Learning and NPC 'teachers' only add bonus experience to 'monster bashing'.
