World of Xeen question

Unread postby Magic531 » 29 Apr 2010, 18:41

Hey all! Just a quick question for the smart members of this community. So I would like to go back and replay the Light/Darkside of Zeen. The last time I played it (absolutely ages ago) if I remember correctly I wound up having to stop midway through the dark side because my party became too old. Well, so I went looking recently for some savegame editors thinking that, well I will just edit my age down if it winds up being a problem again. I did find one, and it lets you edit just about everything 'except' that. So I was wondering if anyone knew of any ways around that, or is my memory mistaken and age isn't that big a deal? Thanks in advance!

There're two quests to restore your age:
1) Clouds: Druids of Seasons - visit Druids of Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter, then return to Druid of Spring.
2) Darkside: Restore the Fountain of Youth (close to Acid Pond).

Cool, thank you! And do those solve the age problem indefinably? Or is it the kind of thing that you really only need to use it once and that should be enough to get through both games?
Thanks!

You can do the druids' quest as many times as you want, and IIRC the fountain, once activated, allows you to drink as much as you want without even doing anything else.

They only help with unnatural aging though, last time I checked.

Natural aging still occurs, along with the stat penalties and eventual death, although you have to waste a lot of in-game time (like doing those job offers for years) to get there.

also, if i remember correctly there was a some bug with the Fountain of Youth in Darkside (could also have been Swords of Xeen, not sure anymore) would break your age (resetting it to like -255) if you drink too much from it.

Item Trading Question

Unread postby Magic531 » 02 May 2010, 11:23

Hi all! Thanks so much for being helpful! Armed with that knowledge I decided to roll up some chars' and give the game another round. So like I'm searching through some beds and I come across a robe. Alright, I pick it up. Now, I know, I must be an idiot. Feel free to make fun of me. But after fiddling with the interface for a full ten min. I was not able to trade this robe from one person to another. Can someone 'please' tell me what I'm doing wrong! My thief has the robe at the moment, but I really need to give it to the mage. Thanks so much!

Don't sleep unless you really need to...

There are no major penities for not sleeping in might and magic 4/5 WoX the only status you will get is "weakness' but it will go away naturally with time...

You would be suprised how much time you waste by sleeping...
