I've tried to figure it out on my own but couldn't ....
What is the difference between the two modes ?
Is there something to do with cpu enemies ?
Difference between co-op and allies ?

not heroes related so I hope you don't mind I moved it to the campfire
anyways I guess you can say 2 v 2 is co-op but co-op doesn't have to be 2 v 2, co-op is used most in story modes like in Red Alert 3 or Modern Warfare 2 and basically allows you to play vs the computer with a buddy

Yeah i thought the same, Co-op is a operation with 2 or more, and Allies are just a team, a band.ByteBandit wrote:I always figured they were one and the same. Co - Op is short for co-operation, which, in latin when translated means "Working together." And where I come from, working together means 'like a team.'
But what is that team is doing a job? (like recording a movie)
Is it then a Co-op: cause its a team which is doing some kind of operation

Co-op mode is pretty much a permanent alliance. Allied mode (in theory) means that players are given an option to break an alliance at any time, at will, but in games like HoMM they're both the same because you can never break an alliance.
