Song of the Wraith - new H4 WoW map by U.T.

Image

Silent is his heart, and stilled in his frozen chest.
Sealed are his lips with the silence of death, as his eyes.
He lingers in this world and he cannot find his rest.
Who is he? The dead one that shall rise.

Silently his frozen chest once more draws breath
And his eyes and mouth are sealed no longer.
Back in the world, but nor in life, nor in death,
Who is he? A restless wraith of yore.

This is how my new Heroes IV Winds of War map called "Song of the Wraith" begins.

This scenario is based on some motives taken from the Polish dramma "Dziady" ("The Forefathers") by Adam Mickiewicz, a famous Polish poet of 19th century. A young poet called Gustavus Conradus returns from his tomb to take his revenge on senator Novossiltzoff.

Well, this was my third attempt to build story-driven a scenario for the infernal faction (in fact to the necromantic aspect of inferno). I hope I've succeeded at last.

The map contains a few side missions that are not mandatory to complete, but the prizes make the victory much easier. When playing remember to plan carefully which fights you should take just now and which of them may wait. The number of recruits you can hire is very limited! There are a few scripts in that are susceptible to the difficulty level setting. Winning it on "Novice" is a walk in a park, but the overall nastines grows rapidly with this setting making winning on "Champion" really hard (if possible). I recommend moderate difficulties - from "Normal" to "Expert".

You can download this map from my homepage: http://urtur.webpark.pl/eng.html , but I hope it will be soon available on other sites including CH.

Thanks, U.T.,

Your excellent creation has inspired me to do a German translation of the scenario including the song-strophes. This version is chosen by the Drachenwald-Team for the 'Map of the Month'-Contest, and soon will be available in the Kartenarchives of Drachenwald and MM-World, and on Ururam's website as well. ;)

The German version ("Gesang des Totengeistes" - wow, this sounds cool) is available on my webpage (address in the sig) too.

Meanwhile on the CH there are much more than a thousand downloads of this scenario. I'm really pleased.
