Guitar Hero, Band Hero, DJ Hero, *sigh* - Necessary??

Unread postby Sure Valla » 10 Dec 2009, 13:18

This one is about the 'immitators' of guitar hero...

So Guitar Hero was a BIG succes at almost every one, so they wanted to make more versions of it: you get GH2,GH3, Worldtour, metallica etc..

So worldtour has this band option, which was awesome!

Ok till so far, GREAT... but how about this?
--------------------------------------------------------
We get rockband (woohoo, copy of GH)

Ok so now they made Band Hero, but DJ hero?

I have no idea if its from the same creators, but even when it is, its lame
I mean if its the same creators it is definitly about the money, i guess

It is nothing special.

Your company has released a new game. People buy it like mad? Milk them to death with countless expansions/ successors (EA's The Sims and The Sims 2 say hello).

Another company's POV:
A successful game and you can make similar game to milk the sheep? Go for it!!

In other words: it is lame, indeed. But while people still buy it, you have little to no reason to stop milking them.

All I can say is vote with your dollars. Somebody must be buying it in order for them to keep making it.

I know is offtopic, but why so much interest from crowd at
this game, if you want to play guitar buy one and learn at
real life, much more creative...I really cannot get it :|

Anyway, expansions etc. at a successful(at marketing aspect ofc)
game is many times like this, Sims was a good example. And is
not something that I like too...

Food Network is now advertising "Cook or Be Cooked" for the Wii. Apparently, it's a chef simulation taking advantage of the Wii's wireless controllers.

So, umm, yeah. The kitchen's right over there.

Except for Rock Band which happens to be a much better game than GH, it's all Activision's work. As was said: milk, milk, milk.

Band Hero is a lame attempt to get a hold of those that either don't like rock (which seems to be girls in Activision's belief) or the ones who want a more "party"-friendly version of the game...

Well, they do have a series of "Cooking Mama" games (I think 2 for the Wii and one for the DS), so this isn't a new concept.

Got to get in on it while the fad is still going...

At least this mean that it will burn itself out faster, so we won't have to see these games for the next 10 years again... stupid Sims.
