Tired of old heroes music?

Unread postby LarvaExotech » 01 Nov 2009, 14:25

Hey!

Are you getting tired of old heroes3 music? Maybe you would want to hear something new in that classic game?

I have prepared a new soundtrack for Heroes3, using music from some abandonware games.

http://rapidshare.com/files/300927683/newmusic.rar.html

(extract it to mp3 folder)

There are new music for all of 9 towns, new music for adventure map terrains, three AI-turn and four combat music tracks.

Those tracks are from games:

Warlords3: Reign of Heroes
Warlords3: Darklords Rising
Wizardry8
Disciples: Sacred Lands

I hope you will like it :)

Why not? Those who played intensively this game are surely bored with it and will enjoy the change. Lurkers will cry "heresy" :)

Thank you, good job. And thanks for the battle quick combat script, it is very handy, wonder why no one had the idea before.

New music is always good to plug in. Lately I've been using the music from the Might & Magic Series, along with Neverwinter Nights I and II.

I have one question. I tried too to apply some custom music but refuses to play.
Extension: mp3
Debit: 224kbs (192kbs yours)

A bit shorter than the original. What are the required conditions for HoMM3?

Traditionally it was:
lame mp3 codec (or payed fraunhofer certainly not xing); 44,1 kHz; 128kbps;stereo - although it played with different bitrates if I still recall it (even vbr).

If you have Narzoul's patch applied, it will be less restrictive - how much I can't say, never measured.

I used a mp3 converter and I tried all kbps. Still does not want to read it.

Can anyone please tell me what is wrong?

From what I gather, all descriptions within the MP3 Tag should be eliminated. It should be empty with no description, title, who wrote it, and so on. There should be absolutely nothing. Bare.... :) I don't know if it helps, but that's what I do. I clean the MP3 tag.

Many thanks for comments ;)) I really tried to make it fit as best as possible, its not like selecting random themes and putting them.

For example, Tower is a strange, i would say "slow" city in winter, so I wouldnt choice faster theme on it, but rather a "calm" and "cold" theme. Combat music should pump tactics and adrenaline into player (at least a bit), there shouldnt be happy and funny music when hero is travelling on swamps, and AI Themes should be a bit mysterious. Thats my personal taste and I feel great that you like it :))
