Heroes II - Desecrated Lands

Unread postby berntie » 03 Apr 2006, 08:54

Hi all!

I've stumbled across a Bonus CD (or something similar) called "Desecrated Lands" that once shipped with certain versions of Heroes II for some exotic plattform. It is for example mentioned here and here.

Can anybody tell me what this CD is (what it contains, if it's cool, etc. etc.)?

Here's what it says in the first link:

"Desecrated Lands is an unofficial levels collection which is included with HoMM2"

So there you have it. It's not a different game, it's just a collection of maps with a catchy title.

IIRC, those extra maps are all fan-made. berntie, if you would post the list of maps, anyone who is interested could probably google for them.

I can't; I don't have this CD and I couldn't find out anything about it on the Web other than that general info from the two links above.

I just wanted to know if someone could tell me
- if there's anything other on the CD beneath maps
- if the CD is extremely cool, just nice, or if it sucks
- if there is a DOS (or Windows) version or not
- which HII-Version (like, for example, Heroes II Gold) has it included
- and where to look for it (in case it is so great that it's a must have)

If none of the CH members owns it, well, then I'll probably never know ...

I hope it's not like that old "unofficial" expansion for Starcraft, Insurrection: lots of large bad maps, bad voice acting, insane difficulty.
I'm on Steam and Xbox Live.

Those links berntie posted imply that the Desecrated Lands CD is Macintosh-only. If that's the case, then it probably won't be much good to you if you're running Windows.
