Masters of Sighisoara - a whole new continent!
Wow BB thanks alot! I would feel so honoured if this became a classic campaign! Acctually I already feel very honoured since Koni will work on translating the campaign to german! Also that it seems like it is getting alot of good words about it already!
And also I agree with Maygwan we have all worked incredibly hard on this campaign (especially Yurian I must add tough!). And it is awesome that something you worked so hard on gets alot of good attention!
Also! Yes! We have indeed only touched the surface! I have already started planning for something new You will probably hear about it in a near future!
And last but not least! Dont forget to check out http://sighisoara.webs.com/
and leave a message in the guestbook or write something in the forum!

Your welcome. I kinda followed the progress of the project and was very aware of who was involved with it. Just the people invoved assured your campaign of good quality, and the downloads will speak for themselves. I've yet to work with Yurian on a map. But I know he runs Map Archives 6 extremely well. I've worked with Koni and he is diligent in what he does. Nice to have those qualities in a project. Enjoy your success. You guys deserve it.
Also we have Maygwan who is an very talented map-maker and he can make all theese challengning finding tents and making quests to get past borders very well! And then we have my fantasy which is quite good allthough would have been nothing without the help of dear Yurian whom improved the stories vastly by simply putting in a better description of what I just wrote! Also Yurian is a perfectionist so when he is happy I could relax haha!
I am very happy since I got the oppurtunity to work with theese people. It has been challenging but also ALOT of fun! And I look forward to working with you again if you guys are up to it!

That is one of the main reasons why i enjoy working with yurin, as max quoted he is a perfectionist. and its all about quality with him. we have worked on a few projects none as big as this and i have enjoyed it.
The reason i went for this project with max is i read the story first and got ideas from max of what he wanted to do, i also got the ok from yurian that he would help on the project. This then became a no brainer as i knew max could write a good story, i knew i could build some great maps and i knew with yurian overseeing it all that it was gonna come out great.
We then had koni offering help and it was the first time i have worked with him and when its comes to testing the maps he did a superb job and in many ways changed certain maps with his wealth of ideas.
And when it was near completion byte offered to correct the grammer ect and now koni is writing it in german so even more can enjoy it.
This is what makes it all worth while all the hours the nights when we were so tired, the problems, bugs and so on, they all seem immeterial now as its finished and people will be downloading it and playing it.
One thing i would like to see is this thread to keep going and maybe players thoughts suggestions likes and dislikes on the campaign ect as i have found from making maps most the mapmakers never really get that much imput from people who play there maps on wether they really enjoyed them or not.
Not to mention that max, yurian and koni and myself may indeed do another part of the campaign, i know max as a lot more imagination and as many stories for us to follow. i can easily build maps around these stories and if yurian will over see the project and koni is willing to keep up the testing then i see no reason why another part of this campaign cannot be released in the near future.
thanx

Hey, Koni!! Good to see you my friend. You're not a mapmaker, and I know that...but really you are. You MAKE the map. It's just as valuble for a map to be enjoyable as it is in painting it.
And for Maygwan and HoP, don't forget that we have a ton of mapmaking tools for H3 on Map Archives 6. This is not a plug but I guess it turned out that way. Just trying to be helpful and make it easier for you guys on your next project is all. And once I get my Map Editor to work as I want it, I will work on the grammar and spelling end of things for you if you would like. A lot of eyeballs on text always helps. Right Koni?

Maygwan, you have been an awesome man to work with, and I must say that I truly agree that all thoose hours of work (surely up to 100 hours for me and Maygwan and surely around 200 hours for Yurain!) was worth it! I hope you received my email yesterday about the new plans Please reply to it with some information on your opinions and ideas
I am all fired up about starting to work on a new campaign Now when me and my girlfriend broke up also I have more time Alot more time acctually and I will try to make quite a big update on the Sighisoara site today So any ideas you would like please post them here and I will do my best to
make everyone pleased!
Also I may announce that I tried the campaign a couple of times on the normal difficulty set I think and I have not yet managed to succesfulyl finish the second map.. And believe me I tried hard, but I restarted the whole campaign yesterday and I believe that this time it will go better
It is indeed a challening map!
And yes with Yurian perfectionism, your mapmaking, Konis great maptestingskills and ability to give constructive critisism and my story writing nothing can possibly go wrong! And the next campaign will be an awesome one if everything goes as planned with HUGE battles against fearsome beasts!
And yes I would to like to have more people post what they think about the campaign, so that we can make an even better next one!

ALSO A VERY IMPORTANT NOTE!:
What faction would you people like to play in the upcoming campaign???

I mentioned on your site about a WoG map using Salamandres latest patch. That idea is now scratched off my list as there are way too many problems with his patch, although he denies it, and I don't like about 75 per cent of the objects he does have anyway. And to include a patch of that size to just play a map (8 mb) is ridiculous. So, if I did make a holdover map it would be SoD. Thinking of story line as we speak.

8MB size is ridiculous to you when it is about playing ALL upcoming maps? Because no one is going to stick to previous editor when having such rich database now. Making maps in SOD is still a great thing, supposing that mapmakers take a close and humble look and learn from maps as Unleashing, TEWI and II, Lord of War and a few others. From what I see from latest SOD maps, they forgot the basics of a quality layout.
As about problems with it, I repeat : you are the ONLY one to have system crash, so just get some additional RAM.
It is quite sad that you lost faith in WoG and the people constantly working to improve it. We hope to have you back soon.

This is my personal choice along with many, many other HoMM3 players. Numbers don't lie. More people are going back to RoE, AB and SoD. The Map Archives reflect that. A microcosm to be sure, but it is what it is. And I got your patch to work, but I personally don't care for it. I believe that's known as "My Choice" last I checked. But I know others like it. So there you go.
And I'm still on the WoG team, but I enjoy SoD and always have. Again, my choice.

Ugh, I never forced anyone to use this patch, or WoG over SOD. I enjoy equally both. It is you who came in the little WoG thread and started cry high that it is bugged and no worth to install. I never advertised it anywhere, even on Yahoo groups. I only defended my work, as I knew it is correct. It seems I was wrong. I apologize.
Moving elsewhere. My choice too.

Prologue map to the Undead of Xerphef campaign
Hello there fellas, I see you are eagerly taking part in the discussion of the upcoming second chapter of the Sighisoara campaign.
As our Team Leader HeroOfPunk (Max) stated his idea and vision about the opening Act for Chapter II of the Sighisoara saga in a private email to the Team: "I was thinking about first letting the player to play some kind of a "prologue map" where you'd play as the undead stealing an artifact from some nation that could help the undead to gain control over the entire continent? Then in the campaign that follows on the prologue map, you will be a nation trying to stop the undead from taking over the continent".
Well, here's my vision concerning the proposed prologue map.
Campaign name: Masters of Sighisoara 2: The Undead of Xerphef
Map Name: Prime Suspect
Map Difficulty: Hard
Map Size: Medium
Underground: Yes
Multiplayer: No
Map Style: Prologue to a Campaign
Map Type: Singleplayer
Human-playable: Pink (Necropolis)
Computer only: Green (Rampart)
Language: English
Game Version: Shadow of Death
Special Win: Acquire Artifact (Vial of Life)
Standard Win: Disabled
Special Loss: Time Expires
Special Other: None/?
The undead are not my favourite bunch of fellas, this I admit, but yet I do agree that it's a good idea to now open Chapter II of the Sighisoara Chronicles. But then again, why not? Let the legions of the dead have their golden chance to conquer the lands of the living.
"Exit light, enter night!"

I like where the map is going. A good interesting story. A medium sized map you say. I see the map having many quests concerning the storyline for a bit more gameplay than, say, on an ordinary sized medium map.
In the beginning, he/she will have to choose a gate entrance for either might or magic. Sounds a bit confusing, I know, but I could do a preliminary map showing you what I mean. And possibly a time limit in order to get the Artifact. I don't like time limit maps per se, but in this case it might be worthwhile.
EDIT:
I have a preliminary Demo map ready to show what I was talking about. Starts in the underground. You must choose your path in the beginning. Then, you go from there.

I'm sorry to report I have to redo it now. My HoMM3 game plays well over 10 hours at a time , but my SoD Map Editor crashes after a small amount of time and I don't know why. I accidently opened up the WoG editor to work on it, crashed again, and when I realized I worked on it in the WoG editor, I deleted it. So, I'' have to do it again. I can only use the map editor for 45 minutes or less before my computer crashes. It never did this while I did TraFoS.
Compared with the Karta1m.jpg, which shows the "Whole New Continent" of Sighisoara, Xerphef is situated in the south, with Gulael (Minotaurs) and Rojaice (ruled by bandits, nomads, halfings and pirates etc.)as neighbours, while the nation of Nature, Geathard, is lying far away from Xerphef on an island in the north.
So stealing an artifact from the neighbours doesn't fit to the Nature faction.
In the Nation-Info.rtf I found a passage about a "powerful artifact" in possession of the Undead:
"The Lich King Servilius rules Xerphef and noone has ever even tried to question how he runs the nation either. Servilius has a powerfull artifact making him the most powerfull Lich that ever set his foot in Sighisoara, and he is almost threatening to the Wizards of Jarall."
I think, that artifact is the "Cloak of the Undead King". Wasn't it a nice idea to tell the story in the planned prologue map, how Servilius got this item, by gathering the parts of the combi-artifact one by one?
Btw. you should 'hold the line' which you have described in both your Nation-Info and the drawn Karta of Sighisoara, I just see that the ruler of the Minotaurs League in Masters of Sighisoara I is named High King Brejk, but in the Nation-Info Gulael is "Ruled by the Minotaur Leader Munatius, he is also the leader of the Minotaurs that run around in Aurolas streets looking for trouble."
